Can scratches in a bowling ball be taken out?
A regular household cleaner like Fantastic or 409 would work as would rubbing alcohol. Just make sure you wipe the ball enough to take any residue of the cleaner off the ball as residue might affect the roll of the ball. You might also try looking in the pro shop of your local bowling establishment to see if they have something. They have products to clean, dull, and shine a ball. If you are looking to have the ball hook a little earlier on the lane you may want to try a duller. If you want the ball to hook a little later on the lane you may want to try a shiner. And you could always ask someone that works at the establishment for advice. They would ask the proper questions to find out exactly what you are looking for and want to do.
Take it to a bowling recreation center. They have those special machines that will effectively clean bowling balls and depending on how much you wish to spend, may put that new luster shine on it too.

Is it a no ball if both the foot of a fast bowler is behind the popping crease?
No, if the bowler bowls from the wrong place; or if he straightens his elbow during the delivery; or if the bowling is dangerous; or if the ball bounces more than twice or rolls along the ground before reaching the batsman; or if the fielders are standing in illegal places. A no ball adds one run to the batting team's score, in addition to any other runs which are scored off it, and the batsman can't be dismissed off a no ball except by being run out, or by handling the ball, hitting the ball twice, or obstructing the field.
How many turns do you get in bowling?

Can you use two hands in bowling?
Yes. At the beginning of a new spell, the umpire will ask the bowler "Right-arm over?" or something similar to determine which arm he will use and which side of the wicket he will bowl from. The umpire then informs the batsman. If the bowler decides to change either of these (to bowl around the wicket or with his left arm) he must inform the umpire, who informs the batsman. If changes either without telling the umpire, the delivery is illegal and will be called a no-ball. Similarly, a batsman must tell a bowler whether he will bat right- or left-handed, and cannot change without notifying the bowler.
A bowler, however, does not have to tell anyone what style he intends to bowl. There is nothing to stop a bowler from bowling a fizzing leg break, followed by a 150km/h thunderbolt, followed by an arm ball. "Which arm" and "which side" are the only things a bowler has to disclose.

Your knowledge of friction would allow you to read the oil pattern. Since oil makes the ball slide further, you can attempt to find an area based on the ball reaction that will maximize your room for error. Bowlers generally use gravityto gain momentum. Using a "pendulum"-like swing, bowlers will drop the ball into the swing and rely on gravity in the downswing to pick up speed.

Why is bowling not an Olympic sport?
The number of countries entered in a sport doesn't have anything to do with whether a sport is competed in the Olympics. Currently (after the 2008 Beijing Games) there are 26 Summer Olympic sports: Aquatics (Diving, Swimming, Synchronized swimming, and Water polo), Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Canoeing, Cycling, Equestrian, Fencing, Field hockey, Football, Gymnastics, Handball, Judo, Modern pentathlon, Rowing, Sailing, Shooting, Softball, Table tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, Triathlon, Volleyball, Weightlifting, and Wrestling. Additionally, there are 32 sports which, while not competed in the Olympics, are considered Olympic sports by the International Olympic Committee: Air sports, Bandy, Baseball, Billiard sports, Boules, Bowling, Bridge, Chess, Climbing, Cricket, DanceSport, Golf, Karate, Korfball, Lifesaving, Motorcycle sport, Netball, Orienteering, Pelote Basque, Polo, Powerboating, Racquetball, Roller sports, Rugby, Softball, Squash, Sumo, Surfing, Tug of war, Underwater sports, Water skiing, and Wushu. The IOC includes sports in its program that they believe are widely practiced around the world and will draw a lot of viewers. The IOC meets and reviews the sports competed in the Summer Olympics after each Games. Members vote on the sports to be included at the SummerOlympics following the next Summer Olympics. Following the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, the IOC members met and voted to remove softball and baseball from the Summer Olympic program after the 2008 Games in Beijing. They voted not to replace them for the 2012 Games in London. The 26 sports listed above (Aquatics (Diving, Swimming, etc) will be those that will be competed at the 2012 Summer Games. The IOC will meet next year to determine the sports that will be competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics. So, a sport is included in the Olympics if the members of the IOC vote for it to be included and a sport is excluded if the members of the IOC vote for it to be excluded. Rule 48 of the Olympic Charter states that at least 15 sports must be included in the Summer Games and a maximum of 28 sports can be included in the Summer Games. This means there are currently two sports that could be included in the 2016 Games that are not currently in the Games. When the IOC meets next year (2009), in all probability, two of the 32 sports listed above (Air sports, Bandy, Baseball, etc) that are considered Olympic sports but not currently competed in the Olympics will be added.

What was the age of the youngest female youth bowler to bowl a 3 games 600 series score?
There were zero ABC sanctioned 3 game 700 series bowled by a youth female under the age of 14. However, in 2005 the ABC, WIBC, and YABA merged into the current National Governing Body for the sport of bowling, which is called the United States Bowling Congress (USBC).
Although there is no central database where youth records such as this are maintained, an exhaustive search of the internet, State Association records, and individual achievement records maintained by the USBC since the merger in 2005, reveals that in fact there have been sanctioned 3 game 700 series bowled by at least one youth female under the age of 14.
Ashley N. Dunn of Palmdale, California first achieved the feat on October 27, 2009 at the age of 12 years, 8 months, and 16 days old. On that day Ashley bowled a USBC sanctioned 3 game 700 series with a score of 726 during league play with games of 256, 236, and 234.
By the time Ashley N. Dunn had turned 14 in February of 2011 she had accomplishe the feat 9 more times during USBC sanctioned league play. It is widely believed that Ashley N. Dunn is the youngest female youth bowler to have bowled a USBC sanctioned 700 series.
