Slingshots fall under the rules of "shooting sports" and the BSA has specific guidelines for their use similar to those for archery and rifles. A scout would not be allowed to possess one on his own and use it will. The camp could, however, set up a supervised range.

Cub Scouts are grouped by school year according to the rank they are currently working to earn. Tigers are in first grade, Wolves in send grade, Bears in thrid grade and Webelos in fourth and fifth grades. A few packs are piloting a new program for kindergarten aged boys called Lions.

When a boy joines he must first earn his Bobcat Badge before he can receive any other rank.

I highly recommend sewing the patches on. This will allow you to move the patches around should you need to.

Badges of office are worn on the left sleeve.

On shirts with a pocket on the sleeve they are worn centered on the pocket.

On shirts without a pocket they are worn centered on the sleeve and either touching the troop number or 4 inches below the shoulder seam.

The main purpose of the sash is to display merit badges. These are attached in rows of three in no particular order. Many just attach them in the order they were earned. Some attach the required badges for Eagle down one border - usually the right. If additional space is needed merit badges may also be attached to the back of the sash.

Venture and Varsity scouts may attach a venture/ Varsity letter in the lower front corner.

Temporary patches may also be attached to the back of the sash.

A sash pin may be worn to keep the sash in place.

The answer is actually quite simple, it would be 11 either way you look at it. If you don't count thumbs as a finger it would be 11 because you would ignore the 3 thumbs. If you do count them as a finger than you would assume that the 3 thumbs were already counted among the 11 fingers. Therefore the answer is 11 either way.

Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts differ in that in Cub Scouts, except for the Bobcat, the ranks are earned at the appropriate age. They do not go back and earn previous unearned badges. Boy Scouts earn each rank in order regardless of age or when they joined.

Cub Scouts:

Bob Cat is always earned first regardless of age.

Tiger Cub - 1st grade

Wolf - 2nd grade

Bear - 3rd grade

WEBELOS - 4th - 5th grades

Arrow of Light - 4th - 5th grades after WEBELOS is earned.

To earn Star Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, you must earn six merit badges, including any four from the required list for Eagle Scout.

Yes, I believe they are. Because if you are in France, then the sashes won't be the same as they are in Japan. You can also either have a sash or a vest or a shirt.

Yes, they are. Each country has their own Girl Guide/Girl Scout organization and each organization determines the official uniform for their organization. Some countries have sashes and/or vests. Some countries have a neckerchief. It varies with the culture and climate of the country and even the activities the uniforms are used for.

The "blue card" is the form that the scout uses to track his progress toward earning a merit badge. The merit badge counselor checks off the requirements as they are done and when it is complete the scout turns in one section to apply for the badge and keeps the other for his own records.
