Casting Crowns is a Grammy-award winning band formed in 1999 that is usually categorised under the genre of Christian rock. As with most other artists in this genre, the lyrics and themes of their music is concerned with elements of Christian faith, often praising God or Jesus. The albums of their discography includes their self-titled album 'Casting Crows' on 2003, 'Peace on Earth' in 2008, and 'Come to the Well' in 2011 amongst others.
A personal walking-around relationship/ friendship with Jesus Christ and God! Also, the Church, the Body of Christ.
They switched drummers because Andy chose to leave Crowns to be with his wife and be the drummer of her band, Soul Sister Sally.
The song Who Am I is about the love of God for His people. It refers to the fact that we are sinners and our lives quickly fade away but yet the God of all creation cares for about every detail of our lives and even though we sin, He still loves and still picks us back up again to set us on the right path. It also refers to the fact that we are His and we can find comfort in knowing that and not live in fear.

Casting Crowns got their name from the book of Revelation where it is shown that people cast their crowns at his (Jesus') feet.
Specifically Revelation 4:10 "The twenty-four elders fall down before him, who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They cast or lay their crowns before the throne at his feet, saying..."
"The grave could not keep Him from rising again" -lyrics from Glorious Day by Casting Crowns.

No, Casting Crowns were only 'discovered' in 2003 by Steven Curtis Chapman and Mark Miller.
Mark is a youth pastor for about 400 students currently residing right-outside Atlanta, Ga. He is also the lead singer and songwriter for a Grammy-award winning Christian band called Casting Crowns. He was born on September 14, 1969 in Alabama. Casting Crowns are in their Churches Sunday - Wednesday and tour Thursday - Saturday.
Being a youth pastor is still very important to Mark; well hey that's where all the songs come from. Even Mark says that himself! A known fact about Mark now is that he has dyslexia and ADD (the first time he ever said the word dyslexia aloud was when he was 21-years-old).
If you want to find out the stories behind his songs check out his two books:
~Lifestories: Finding God's "Voice of Truth" Through Everyday Life (Aug. 29, 2006) [Out of Print- can buy it through Castingcrowns.com].
~Your Own Jesus: A God Insistent on Making Is Personal (Aug. 1, 2009)
Both of his books are just WOW! Incredible! The stories are amazing, some sad and some happy, but still AMAZING!
Lead-singer Mark Hall's oldest daughter, Reagan.
Well, Mark Hall wrote the song; he is a full-time youth pastor as well. Mark calls 'Does Anybody Hear Her' The Girl Song. He was inspired to write it because he sees that the song depicts where so many live.
They are all around us. To become numb to their pain is to become numb to the very heart of God and the suffering of His only Son.

"Adults live there, too, if we're being honest. We crave approval regardless of age. We adults separate ourselves from teenagers, thinking they are so different. The only differences of note are the level of influence and responsibilities. But we're still basically like we were as teenagers: We want to be accepted; we want to be treated well; we want to be respected and even liked. When we're not, it hurts. When we're left out, it hurts. When we're bullied, it hurts. We all feel the same emotions. So teenagers aren't aliens or robots. They're just younger, more immature versions of us.
I needed almost a decade to write this song. You may recall that it is something of an offshoot of one of the songs on our first CD.I realized that the meaty second verse of What If His People Prayed? was really its own song -- that one simple paragraph was an injustice to the girl I was seeing far too frequently in far too many places. I had to let the story play out in my head for a while. Unfortunately, as a youth pastor I've had more case studies than i have ever wanted." Excerpt taken from Lifestories by Mark Hall, page 135-136
Actually, what inspired "Praise You In This Storm", was the story of a young girl named Erin. Whom was battling bone cancer. She was diagnosed when she was 7 on Sept. 11, 2001 and died at the age of 10 (on Nov. 1, 2004).
Yes, it has Psalms 121:1-2 in it, Mark added it in to try and capture the cry of a desperate mother.
Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name
Would care to feel my hurt
Who am I, that the bright an morning star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart
Not because of who I am
But because of what you've done
Not because of what I've done
But because of who you are
I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
A vapor in the wind
Still you hear me when I'm calling
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling
And you've told me who I am
I am yours, I am yours
Who am I, that the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love and watch me rise again
Who am I, that the voice that calmed the sea
Would call out through the rain
And calm the storm in me
I am yours
Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear
'Cause I am yours
I am yours
Their Until The Whole World Hears Fall Tour was with Matt Redman. The Spring Tour is half with Kutless and Caleb, and half with Tenth Avenue North and Caleb.
Melanie Hall, Mark Hall's wife, isn't in the band. She is the band's road manager. As far as I know, she doesn't play any instruments, not publicly at least.
He is with is wife in her band, Soul Sister Sally. Now, Andy plays for that band too.
Go to their websites, follow them on Twitter and watch interviews with/of them.
