Ira is still doing voice over work, they wanted to go with a younger look, hence the arrival of Lonnie Quinn. On Saturday, October 25th Ira Joe Fisher was on the Early Show. He is about half the man he was before! I did a Google search to see how he lost so much weight, but this was the most recent info about him. The last time i saw him on television he had beard growth and was not very clean as far as his appearance went because of the beard. He was dangerously overweight, though, so i am glad he's changed that. I've seen him with his family on holiday broadcasts and he definitely has a wonderful family that loves him and they seem to have a lot of fun! Kudos, Ira Joe! your public loves your wonderful personality. I, for one, hope you're back to stay!

In the collector market the value won't be astounding. That doesn't diminish the cool factor of owning a cool vintage Fender that you don't see every day. Also: remember that if you "restore" it the value will plummet. The old funky paint and occasional chip here and there will be TONS more desireable than a re-painted one with fresh hardware. Leave it stock, only changing out what is broken or impeding the ability to play the instrument.
