Is cheerleading bad for people?
Well, I think cheerleading has both physical and mental side-effects. I have been cheering for five years now and I'm a base. My left arm was literally crumbling in on itself for a few months and the only sign was excruciating pain. There is also a lot of drama involved in cheer - more than any other sport in my opinion. My friend quit cheer because she was treated so badly that it caused her to sit in a corner at night and cry herself to sleep.
What is an easy way to improve you toe touch jump?
- sit on a mat or carpet or something soft and squishy
- form a wide v with your legs(as wide as possible!)
- stretch one arm into the air and go down to one of your feet with a straight arm. (if using right arm go to left foot if using left arm go to right foot)
- hold for 15 secs.
- do the same thing but with your other arm
- hold for 15 secs
- put both arms over your head like you are about to dive into water
- go down as low as you can between your legs
- hold for 15 secs
over time, try to push your nose down to the floor. the more your face is smushed up on the floor, the better your toe touch will be. this exercise is to help stretch your legs out. it will improve both splits and your toe touch. do this exercise everyday for a month or 2 and your toe touch and splits will be perfect!

espeicially if your a flyer, you will need to be pretty flexible.
And 2 ; search youtube for videos on formations for tumbling, and basic formations like a high V... Trust me, it works :)

I suppose you could wear cheer shoes if you really wanted to but people might judge you as a wanna be. Also you don't just see people wearing cheer shoes all the time - only at cheer practice since they can get dirty easily.

What can you take to a cheerleading potluck?
For any potluck you want to make something that will be easy, inexpensive, go a long way and you want it to be all gone by the end of the evening. If it's gone, then everybody loved it.
I like doing the appetizers. A nice big relish tray being creative with how you cut the veggies is good.
A big fruit salad with a couple of cans of canned fruit cocktail and a bunch of different types of fresh fruit. Add some nuts and raisins, too. Carve out a half a watermelon and put it all in there, then you'll really look like you put in an effort without really doing much.

Is cheerleading a contact sport?
Cheer leading is not a contact sport because of the dangerous stunt elements which provide ample opportunity for exercise to be fun and easy.
Is there a professional cheerleading Job?
Probably being a coach for a team, or developing your own team. You could also be a judge at a cheerleading competition, but you would have to of been an exceptional cheerleader to do this.

I am a cheerleader and in the winter under my uniform i wear a long sleaved top the same colours as my squad uniform ! Hope this helps x
Troy University do you have majorettes and cheerleaders?
Of course! Within the Sound of the South (Troy's marching band) There are majorettes, dancers, colorguard and a feature twirler. There are two cheer squads who perform at each game. Also, Troy has an amazing Dance ensemble called TDRE. Tryouts are held for each though, so perfecting basics and working on more advanced technique and skills for all is a necessity if interest to join one arises.
