Cheetahs

The Cheetah, Acinonyx jubatus, is a member of the cat family, Felidae. They hunt by sight and speed, rather than by stealth typical of other big cats. The fastest of all terrestrial animals reaching speeds of over 110 km/hour (60 mph) in short bursts, it is the only cat that cannot completely retract its claws.

Are cheetah in a pack?

Depending on the social group to which they belong, male Cheetahs will engage in solitary hunting, within pairs, or more rarely groups of three.

"In one Serengeti study by Caro and Collins (1987), 41% of the adult males were solitary, 40% lived in pairs and 19% lived in trios."

As they do not posess the physical prowess of Lions, their advantage is in their immense speed. Therefore they will more often than not prey on smaller animals they can kill on their own, unless when hunting in coalitions. Female Cheetahs, on the other hand, engage exclusively in solitary hunts, sometimes accompanied by older cubs to aid in their training. While male Cheetahs are sociable, they will rarely form groups of more than 2-3, although as their groups mainly consist of their own brothers, they form strong bonds and remain together for life. Females, while often living and hunting near their own female relatives, lead entirely solitary lives accompanied only by their offspring.

What is cheetah's foodweb?

They are found in Africa as well as Iran and a few other countries in the middle east.

Is a cheetah faster than a sword fish?

The answer depends on therein and direction put the cheetah under as mash friction as the fish and the regular 90mph wil be redusd sharp li. On the ather hand put the fish with as meni obstacles as the parkour inspireing sheetha and see its straight line speed of ober 110mph crack and shater to a mere fraction of its former self. The distance wold olso be a key factor like oll drag and street raisers know, on the chort run the jump start 65-80mph speed of the cheetah wold dust the 35-45mph speed of the fish. Haw ever on the long run the stedi maximum 110mph of the fish wold bury the decreasing 90mph(90-10x)(x=1min) of the cheetah. So ultimately ith oll depends on the bias. When were cheetahs put on endangered species list?

Ask a friend!
The cheetah as a whole was declared as endangered by the usa as recently as 2008.

However the cheetah can definitely be classed as endangered and has been so for a long time. Currently the number of cheetah in the world is estimated at 7500.

Cheetah lost most of their weight in the rush to become fast. As such they cannot defend their kills from almost any animal. This means that they cope very badly in reserves with other large mammals. An example of this is south Africa, where the protected area has about 200 cheetah but the rest of south Africa have perhaps another 800.

Cheetah live at very low densities everywhere and so it takes a huge reserve to have a viable population (Kruger national park in south Africa is the size of wales but has a total of 200 wild cheetah and cannot support more).

Cheetah were once found across Africa Asia southan Europe and America. If you compare this to current numbers they have been endangered for thousands of years.

It is only over the last 100 years though that the number of cheetah has crashed. The Asian population numbers 100 or so as does the saharan population.

Lots of information I know, but it really isn't a question to be easily answered
