In the 1940 NFL Championship Game, the Chicago Bears faced the Washington Redskins. The Bears demolished the other team, with a final score of 73-0 This is not only their highest scoring game, but it is an NFL record for the most points scored in one game and for the largest point difference.

The average attendance for the St. Louis Cardinals ever since they built the new stadium has been sold out. This however does not mean you are completley blocked out of acquiring tickets.

For the 2008 season, the Cardinals drew over 3,000,000 fans to their home games. Through the 2008 season, that was December 5, 1976 when the Bears defeated the Seahawks in Seattle by the score of 34-7.

Since then the Bears have lost 4 straight games in Seattle (1982, 1984, 2003, 2007).

"Good Old Half Foot"

Tom Dempsey, aka "Good Old Half Foot" whose career spanned 1969-1979 with several teams, was born without toes on his right foot. He currently holds the NFL record for longest field goal in history, along with Jason Elam of the Broncos, at 63 yards.

The team was established by the A. E. Staley Company of Decatur, Illinois in 1919 as a company team. The team was known as the Decatur Staleys and joined the NFL as a charter member in 1920. The team moved to Chicago the following season and changed its name to Bears.

After suffering financial losses despite a 10-1-2 record, company founder and namesake Augustus E. Staley turned control of the team to George Halas in 1921. Halas moved the team to Chicago and took on teammate as a partner. The newly minted "Chicago Staleys" won the NFL championship that year. They took the name Bears in 1922 as a tribute to baseball's Chicago Cubs which permitted the Bears to play their games at Wriggly Field.

The Chicago Bears have won one Super Bowl. It was Super Bowl XX, where the beat the New England Patriots 46-10.

Hall-of-Fame middle linebacker Mike Singletary (1981-92) is easily the most distinguished player to wear number 50 for the Chicago Bears. Also worth noting is Pro Bowl center Mike Pyle (1961-69). Linebacker Waymond Bryant (1974-77) was the last regular starter to wear the number before Singletary, and no one has worn it since Singletary's retirement, although the number has not yet been officially retired by the Bears franchise.

The Bears have been to the Super Bowl twice. The 85 Bears, (played in Super Bowl 20 on Jan 26, 1986) beating the New England Patriots 46-10 and the 2006 Bears, (played in Super Bowl 41 on Feb 4, 2007) losing to the Indianapolis Colts 29-17.

Hall-of-Fame defensive lineman Dan Hampton wore number 99 for the Chicago Bears from 1979 through 1990. Since then, the number has been used by defensive end Tim Ryan (1992-93), defensive tackle Jim Flanigan (1995-2000), defensive end Joe Tafoya (2001-03), defensive tackle Tank Johnson (2004-06), defensive tackle Darwin Walker (2007) and defensive tackle Marcus Harrison (2010). Going into the 2012 season, rookie defensive end Shea McClellin has been assigned number 99.

For the 2009 season, that is John Carney of the New Orleans Saints at 45 years old (born April 20, 1964).

Located on Lake Shore Drive in Chicago, Illinois the stadium is named "Soldier Field" as a memorial to fallen American soldiers. Originally built in the mid 1920's it was based on Greco-Roman design but was remodled due to an increase in population

and structural codes.

I BELIEVE GEORGE BLANDA OF THE OAKLAND RAIDERS HAD THE LONGEST NFL CARREER (WELL OVER 20 YRS.). Blanda played in the AFL (not the NFL) from 1960-1969. So you can take 10 years off of his total if you take the question literally. Correct answer for longest NFL career would be Morten Andersen. With 25 seasons and the NFL record for most games played at 382. Blanda is third on the list behind Andersen and Gary Anderson.
