How chimpanzees useful to us?

Chimpanzees are just like most animals, where they dont have to do anything spacific, they are just part of the food chain. So some animals eat chimps, and chips eat some other animals and fruits. If there are'nt any chimps, then some animals that eat chimps will die. Then the animals that eat the animals that eat the chimps will die, and so on and so fourth. So the way the chimps help the environment is by keeping their part in the food chain in balance. So by us tearing down their homes, we are killing them. And, again, if they die out, then so will the next animal in the food chain, and the next, and the next, all the way up to us! In other words, by killing the chimps, we are killing ourselves. This was written by Sydney, TN.

Are chimpanzees allowed in Utah as pets?

Answer it yourself !

Chimpanzees cannot be pets. As babies, they are easy to care for and can pretty much be raised as a human child. However, once they reach adolescence, they become 7-10 times stronger than a human. No matter how loving a relationship a chimp has with their human family, there is always the possibility they will lose their temper and attack, or attack a neighbour. Not even the trainers in Hollywood can handle them after this, and usually get rid of them or keep them in cages their whole lives after a childhood of severe abuse.

Also, it is not kind to the chimp. When they become too strong to handle, many zoos cannot take pet chimps, because chimps learn their social skills from watching the members of their community as they get older, and they do not know how to interact properly with other chimps. They also cannot be put into the wild for this reason. Sanctuaries are usually full to capacity. Some owners are so desperate they resort to sending their chimp to a biomedical lab to be used as a research subject. Not to mention the fact that these baby chimps are taken from their mothers to be raised by humans. This has exactly the same effect it would on a human mother and child.

Chimps are also very endangered in the wild, and keeping them as pets gives the impression that the species is stable, when nothing could be further from the truth.

If you love chimps, do some research and help protect them in the wild, or fundraise or volunteer for a sanctuary. But never ever ever get a pet chimp. It ends badly for all involved.

Would the extinction of lions affect the world?

Yes, of course it would. The animals that lions eat would flourish in population numbers. The animals that lions eat may even become pests, and the animals that they eat would become endangered. This is because the more the population grows the more they need to eat. The lion is at the top of the food chain. If it becomes extinct, it throws the ecosystem of the area off. It is like a chain effect: without the lion, there really isn't any other predator to keep control of the quantities of animals there are. And that would completely throw off the balance of the world's ecosystems.

Why are chimpanzees used for testing?

Because they're closest to humans genetically - so any reactions in the chimps will most likely happen in humans.

How to control a dog who is intimidated by big dogs?

You can slowly integrate the dog to others. Find somebody who you know that lives close to you and has a dog (let's call it Spot) so that you can go around to introduce it. However do not stick them in a room and expect it to be okay. You must keep your dog shut in one room and excite him. Play with him and make sure the other dog is excited too. If all goes well they should bark. Your dog might not like this at first but soon enough it will become apathetic to the barking (when excited). When you dog is okay with the barking then it should not be as startled when the next stage is introduced. Take the dogs out for walks. Put your dog behind 'Spot' with at least 10 metres of space. Do this frequently for 5 minutes a time. Keep doing this and reduce the space between the dogs. (You will want to get your dog used to the smell of 'Spot' so get an old sheet and rub 'Spot' with it until it smells strongly. Leave the blanket where your dog usually sleeps - in it's bed preferably - and it will get used to the smell of dogs.) Once your dog is more comfortable with this dog put it in the same room as 'Spot' and keep them together for several hours. Again do this regularly and soon enough your dog will be okay with the smell, look and noises dogs make. Make sure your dog is introduced to other dogs on a lead before you put them together, otherwise it could end up with fighting, depending on how docile/vicious you dog is.

But man wrote the bible, right? Yes, but it is inspired by God.

For 2nd Timothy 3:16,17 says: All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

Answer

No, you are a Human Homo sapiens.

Chimpanzees Pan troglodytes and Pan paniscus are the closest relatives to extant Homo. That does not make Homo equivalent to Chimpanzee Pan. One must realise that evolution does not work in a 'linear' fashion eg Chimpanzee becoming Human or (the idiotic idea of some not versed in Evolution Theory) that Chimpanzees suddenly displace themselves by giving birth to Humans.

Evolution works in a branching/diverging/bifurcatory fashion. There was at x time in the past a Pan-Homo common ancestor, whose population diverged to give rise to the extant Pan on the one hand and the extant Homo sapiens on the other (via Australopithecus and a few Homospecies and perhaps other genera on the Homo branch and Pre-Pan troglodytes/paniscus species and/or genera on the Pan branch. Due to such a divergence from a common ancestor it should be plain that you are not a Chimpanzee, but a Human.
