Because some couples want a boy too badly( social prejudice) that when their first born was found to be a girl, they try to violate it and try to have a boy instead.(So mostly social related issue).

if there were too many people in China then there would not be enough food, water, and shelter. If there wasn't enough room then you would have to build more houses resulting in loss of land, and more pollution, so putting the one child policy into action will help minimise the risk of over populating and unnecessary loss of land.

Mostly to stop unchecked population growth. After the PRC was formed, China was still one of the most populous countries in the world despite the ravages of war and famine. Most of China population at that time were farmers and parents produced many children (>3 in most of the cases) in hope of producing more human labour. This, if allowed to continue, would cause the already large population to mushroom to a size that would be impossible to maintain with the limited resources in China, leading to an eventual famine that would cause massive deaths and seriously impede any meaningful economic development. The government decided to implement the one-child policy to strictly control population growth by limiting the number of children to one per family (two in rural families if the first is a girl). This approach, though fraught with civil rights violations, have produced noticable results in reducing the population growth rate.

Population control exists in China because there are simply too many people living there. A lot of baby girls are adopted out (if they are fortunate enough) to help keep the population under control.

I do not think it was fair that china has an one child policy because they have to let their other children on the sides of streets or side walks and let them suffer, get ran over by a car, or tourmented by careless humans such as China's government. They should make a bigger economy.

There are many tourist attractions in China such as The Great Wall, Terracotta Warriors, many of the temples, walled cities still scattered around China, the Bund in Shanghai, Bird's Nest Stadium, Lakes, mountains, museums, theaters, markets (for silk, souvenirs, clothing, etc), bridges, seas, among many other places.

Without a more specific city or region it could take a while to list all the tourists attractions to China.

the one child policy is actually good for the economy because parents don't have to spend so much money on so many kids. so that money is saved and that is definitely good for the economy.

Well the ratio of the number of males to females will change dramatically (A lot more males), also if they continue with the one child policy they may face an aging population similar to Japans problems but if they do not continue with the policy the countries population will continue to rise.
