What is the principles of digital terrain modelling?

The principles of digital terrain modelling include elevation and local topographic variables. It also includes regional topographic variables as well as structural lines.

What is invert in drainage system?

The invert is the exact elevation of a drainage facility or pipe where the water is designed to flow. If a 2 foot dia. pipe crosses the road, one end of the pipe will be higher than the other, say 6 inches of fall. Say the high end (elevation measured at the end of the pipe at the flowline) is at elev. 325.00 The elev of the low end at the end flowline would be 324.50. 325.00 is the invert in 324.50 is the invert out

What is the difference between invert level and reduced level in a drainage system?

Invert Level is the bottom of the pipe, reduced level is the middle of the pipe.

What grade of steel is Ti-strong steel?

Grades 1 through 4 are used to make this as well as other types of metals. This is extremely strong commercial steel.

Can you apply paint on galvanised mild steel?

It is possible to apply paint to galvanized steel. It must first be primed with a special primer. You must use a paint designed for this purpose.

Aspects of statistics?

What do the colours of civil engineers helmet represent?

Hard hat colors can signify different roles on construction sites. For instance, white often signifies supervisors or engineers, blue technical advisers, green is commonly worn by safety inspectors, yellow laborers, and orange or pink, new employees and/or visitors. At one time, blasters traditionally wore red. These color designations will vary from company to company and work site to work site. The most universal is white for managers and supervisors. Derogatory references to "shiny white hard hats" are common on many sites. On very large projects involving a number of companies, it is sometimes the practice for all the employees of a company to wear the same color hat.

Who is your present or most recent employer?

The answer to this question is not the same for everyone. This answer will be for someone who actually had a job. For an example for me the answer would be an Administrative Assistant.

What is the difference between built-up steel sections and rolled steel sections?

Built up steel sections are comprised of other smaller members. This could be 3 plates welded together to form an I-shape or 2 angles bolted back to back to make a double angle shape.

Compare this to rolled sections, which are formed (called rolled) into the shape directly. Therefore, it was one whole member, as if you were pushing play dough through a form.

The issue one must consider with built-up shapes is that the welding or punching for bolt holes creates a significant residual stresses in the member, weakening its capacity. While rolled sections do still contain residual stresses from uneven cooling (flanges and web cool at different rates because of heat/mass transfer), the residual stress in a rolled shape is much less than that of its built up member counterpart.

Why stress is a tensor?

Stress is a tensor because it affects the datum plane. When this is affected and it changes, it is then considered a tensor.

What is picture invert in sewer storm pipeline?

The invert is the bottom of the inside of the pipe. It is the major level reference level when installing pipework of civil works, ie storm water etc.

Specifics of their alloys, they'll have different proportions of carbon, iron, chrome etc. These changes will make the one known as steel a little stronger and harder to machine than the one called mild steel.

What is a splitter valve?

A splitter valve has a blow off valve sound but it redirects the airflow. It combines the features of a diverter valve and blow off in one housing.

What is collimation error?

error in alignment between the optical axis of a telescope & the declination.

it is line set out by the optical axis of the instrument ( level). so it is just an imaginary line that describes the ray of light that allows us to read different values from the leveling staff. this term arose from the fact that in differential leveling in surveying we must construct horizontal line of sight, but due to collimation error the collimation line (i.e. line of sight) will not be 100% horizontal (by horizontal we mean tangent the level surface at the instrument position), instead it will be slightly deviated. so what we are looking to achieve when we eliminate the collimation error (using the 2 peg test) is a horizontal line of collimation.

Why are engineers considered an important segment of the society?

Engineers are an important in society because they are the ones who build residences, buildings, bridges and other infrastructures that make life easier. Almost all of the things used today in the modern world, especially computers, are created by engineers.
