They use their mucus-covered skin to protect themselves from the anemone's stinging tentacles, allowing them to live among these creatures for shelter and protection. Additionally, clownfish are skilled at communicating through a series of vocalizations and body movements, and they exhibit complex social structures within their groups, including hierarchical breeding systems. Their adaptability to different reef environments also contributes to their survival.

Well overall clownfish live to about 45-50 years in their habitat. Teenage clownfish will live to 45-50 years. On the other hand clownfish will only like 4-8 years once they are in a aquarium. I would Suggest not keeping any clownfish in a fish tank anywhere. Only because you give them a shorter life, and we would not like it if we were kept in a cage.

REMEMBER, once a clownfish always a clownfish.

From my experience, I think in the water.

Clown fish is dependent on the Sea Anemone for protection and food. The Anemone paralyzes the fish and eat and the Clow Fish will eat the remaining bits and pieces. As for Barracudas eating Clown Fish, it is possible, but Clown Fish are usually not eaten by other fish because they stay safely tucked into the stinging tentacles of the Anemone.

If a male clownfish's partner dies - like in Finding Nemo- the male fish switches gender and becomes female. Technically, Marlin should have been Marlina.

So far my research has led me to believe that the "Clown Fish" would get attached to the tentacles, stung then slowly eaten.

So sadly I have not read anywere that states they will be compatible...
