If you are allergic to codeine would you be allergic to Imodium?
No. They have similar effects on the bowel but work in very different ways and and are not chemically related. You may be allergic to both but this would be a coincidence rather than a causal relationship.

Unfortunately, I am allergic to Codeine, and am unable to take: Imodium, Morphine, Vicodin, Oxycodone, or anything similar. Imodium makes everything 100 times worse: the diarrhea, stomach cramps, then add vomiting. The only thing I can take for pain is Demerol, because it is 100% synthetic, so be careful with
Imodium even though it's over the counter. I assume everyone is different.

Can an over the counter drug contaiening codeine come up on a drug test?
There is no over counter drug contains codeine only Prescription. Reference http://www.meditests.com
Can you mix codeine phosphate with any other pain killer?
For the hypothetical patient, this combination may be used. However, it should be noted that the combination may be dangerous for some patients and should therefore only be used under medical supervision. When prescribed together, the OxyContin is usually scheduled (one tab twice daily etc) and the codeine used for "breakthrough" pain (pain which occurs between doses of the scheduled med). OxyContin and codeine are both opioids and controlled substances. Use each (alone or in combination) only as prescribed.
What prescription pain pills don't have codeine in them?
Vicoprofen, roxicodone, ibuprofen, morphine. There are a few.
How many tablets of acetaminophen codeine?
The Tylenol is much more toxic than the codeine in the medication. You would die from liver damage before you would die from lack of breathing/heart function and CNS (central nervous system) depression from the codeine. So, follow the protocol for Tylenol toxicity and maximum daily dosage. That is, no more than 4000mg, or 4 grams, of Tylenol when taking the medication short term. In extra strength Tylenol, this equates to 8 tablets. You should never take more than 1000mg, or 1 gram, (2 tablets of extra strength Tylenol) in a 4 hour period.
If you're taking the medication for chronic or long-term treatment (continuously for 2 weeks or more), 2500mg per day is the rule of thumb. Anything over that and you're at risk for liver damage. Alcohol consumption, of course, (as well as intake of several other substances) increases the likelihood of liver damage and lowers the threshold of the amount of Tylenol required to cause liver damage and failure.
Liver failure from Tylenol is not sudden nor immediate. It happens slowly and often unnoticeably before it's too late. I don't think I need to say that getting a liver transplant for a liver that you damaged yourself and avoidably so is very difficult as "supplies" are limited and reserved for those who have a failing liver though no fault of their own.
What is the difference between robitussin with codeine and promethazine with codeine?
Robitussin with codeine contains guaifenesin, which is an ingredient that is used to treat chest congestion by increasing chest secretions and making it easier for the patient to cough up the secretions.
Promethazine is a drug that is used to treat nausea and vomiting.
Codeine is used in both preparations to treat cough
Can you take codeine and Adderall together?
It depends on if the cough syrup contains dextromethorphan (DXM). DXM and adderall are a very unwise mix, creating a MAOI. It can cause very negative consequences and I would highly suggest against it. If it does not contain DXM, however, there should be no problem.
If you have codeine allergies will you have Oxycontin allergies?
It's technically possible for someone to exhibit an allergic response (hives, difficulty breathing) to codeine, but have no problem taking oxycodone. That said, the odds are probably against it, and as such should only be attempted at the discretion of a trained medical professional (with OTC antihistamines on-hand, just in case). Molecularly speaking, codeine and oxycodone are very similar. Codeine lacks the hydroxy group at the 14- position, and has a 7-8 double bond. Also, the 6- position of codeine contains an alcohol group instead of a carbonyl.
What is the DEA control schedule for cough syrup with codeine
Does Darvocet have codeine in it?
No Darvocet (acetaminophen and propoxyphene) does not contain codeine.
Darvocet is not known as percocet, (percocet is oxycodone) and is also a 1/4 of the strength of codeine. It is also more closely related to Demerol then codeine. It would take 2 darvocet 100 to even match the strength of one hydrocodone.
How many mg of codeine does Tylenol 4 contain?
What is the difference between Tylenol and codeine?
Tylenol is just the over the counter pain reliever. Whereas the Tylenol with codeine is that same plus a low dose of codeine which is a low level opiate, similar to a percacet but a much lower dose. The codeine can get you high but unless properly extracted from the Tylenol cab be fatal on the liver when used in excess

There is no specific brand of cough syrup that has Promethazine. This chemical can be found in generic brands.
It is very dangerous to inject codeine because it causes the body to release a large amount of histamine (like an allergic reaction). This can cause pulmonary edema which is life-threatening.
Best just to use codeine as your doctor intended.
Can you take hydrocodone if you are allergic to codeine?
Yes.
Hydrocodone is a synthetic derivative of codeine. It does not contain the actual substance.
I would also add that in my experience, the nausea seen with use of codeine is rarely seen with hydrocodone.

Fioricet, has acetaminophen, which is Tylenol. So, please be aware that 4000mg within 24 hours (1000mg every 6 hours) is the maximum safe dose.
Also, since the pregnancy category was checked off, please make sure you're OB/GYN is aware that you have a medication containing aspirin that you use. There are some people where low-dose aspirin is a therapy used during pregnancy, but it is normally avoided.
What happens if you mix Dilaudid 2mg with codeine 5mg?
It depends on how much of what you take. MDMA would naturally override the effects of Codeine being the strong stimulant it is. However Codeine being an opiate depressant(downer) can be dangerous when mixed with a stimulant(upper) such as MDMA. Mixing uppers and downers is not wise as this can likely cause your heart to go into cardiac arrest. One part of your brain is telling your heart to go faster, while the other part is telling it to slow down. Be careful.
Can you take metformin and codeine together?
No. The suboxone will stop the codeine from working.
Also, combining codeine and suboxone could cause respiratory depression (a decreased rate of breathing). If respiratory depression is severe enough it can cause death.
Can you mix Benadryl and Tylenol with codeine?
Yes. They are safe to take together though may cause marked drowsiness. Be sure to only take as directed.
Benadryl, or Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride, is the "active" ingredient in sleeping aids like "Tylenol PM". As drugs go, it's one of the safer ones, and is not subject to abuse.
