If the hermit crab's arm falls off is it dead?

No, it is not dead. Hermit crabs can grow back their "arms" over time, though claws missing can be harder to live without. Just make sure you give lots of new shells so they can molt (which is when the arm is grown back). Don't worry-this happened to my herm!

How did the European green crab come to America?

The European green crab was an accidental species transfer to America. The crab arrived by hitching a ride by hiding in the seaweed bedding of other intended shellfish deliveries such as lobsters. The crab arrived in the mid 1800's during a time when transferring species was far from a concern to humans at the times so proper care wasn't being made.

Can you put a garden lizard in a hermit crab tank?

Well, yes you can usually.

First of all, take out the hermit crabs if there is any in the tank.

Second of all, you have to consider how long the lizard is staying in the tank for.

If the lizard is kept there permanently, then you would have to decorate the tank appropriately to what climate the lizard is used to. You should also see a vet, pet shop owner or someone that works with those lizards to get advise from them.

If the lizard is kept there for 1 to 3 days in the tank, it should survive if you give it fresh water everyday and food according to what lizard it is. It should still survive for 3 days even if you don't give it food but...yeah.

BUT DON'T KEEP IT IN THE TANK IF YOU HAVE THE CRABS IN IT.

(It could get chopped to pieces).

Are blue crabs eukaryote?

How are blue crabs different from regular crabs?

Blue shell crabs, or blue swimmer crabs differ from most other crab species in two different ways. First way they differ is that they have fins for their back legs and most crabs do not have this. Second way they differ is in the fact that they are extremly aggressive toward anyone or anything that gets in their personal space. These crabs are know to jump at people when they try to pick them up. Oh, and do not let them pinch you, they can cut through your finger.

They make a Jonah clay-mation DVD if you are looking to teach your kids about him or something to that effect.

How does the decorator crab use behavioral adaptations to escape its predator?

They cover them self in seaweed that acts as camouflage, attached to the hooks on its shell. It attaches the algae, seaweed, sea anemones or sponges with a secretion that becomes adhesive when hardened. This adaptation gives the decorator crab its common name, as it seems to be decorating itself with the seaweed, algae, sponges, and sea anemones.
