Hi Ive noticed your question for some time -I dont think I can give you an answer but as Im a Sproston I have an interest.What Ive found out is that Hugh Sproston snr had 3 marriages.Hugh jnr was from the first marraige and he had a son called Stanley William.I presume you are trying to find the cricketer Stanley Winfield Sproston b1872 who played for British Guiana.There seem to be some coincidences like their initials and places of birth but Im sorry I just cant tie them together.Id be interested if you had any further information. Incidently Hugh snr had a daughter from his second marriage who married Paul Cressall.There is also a cricketer of the same name -there must be some connection there too.
