Why do you die of sunstroke?
Sunstroke (heat stroke) is more technically referred to as hyperthermia, which is when the body gets too hot and cannot lower its internal temperature enough to remain alive. If a person is in the heat (not necessarily in direct sunlight), and cannot stay cool enough through perspiration or rest, the body's internal core temperature may rise. If it rises high enough, the temperature begins to damage the brain and thus autonomic functions. Sufficient brain damage results in death. Hyperthermia is a medical emergency, and anyone suffering from it should be immediately seen by a doctor or taken to the hospital. SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS: Dry, hot skin (no sweating) Swollen lips Dizziness Nausea or vomiting Unconsciousness (fainting) Severe hyperthermia may present as extreme disorientation, violent behavior, rapid heart rate/breathing and other signs that resemble intoxication. Seizures are also possible, especially in children. FIRST AID: Have the person sit in the shade, or move to a cooler location (inside an air conditioned car or building). Remove any insulating clothing, or remove as much clothing as modesty permits. If the person is conscious, have them drink tepid (but not cold) water. You can also sponge or dampen the skin with water to assist evaporative cooling. Call for emergency medical assistance or take the person to a hospital immediately. THINGS NOT TO DO: - Do not put the person in a tub of ice or cold water. This can shock the body into vasoconstriction, which is counterproductive. If tepid water is available, that may be used instead. - Do not attempt to give an unconscious or semi-conscious person food or water. They may choke. WAYS TO STAY SAFE: - Make sure you drink enough water during hot conditions; dehydration is one of the most common factors and one of the easiest things to prevent. - If you are engaged in physical activity, take frequent rests in a shaded area. - Children are much more vulnerable, and will not remember to drink enough fluids. Make sure your kids are taking rests and getting enough water. - Try to avoid working outside in hot weather if possible. - Remember that humid weather makes it harder to stay cool through sweating, and be more cautious than in dry weather.

What can you do in North Carolina if your mother just died two months ago and her car was repossessed 3 days ago without warning?
I am very sorry to hear of your mother's passing. My mother passed a way a year ago this past June and it is never easy. If you can show a death certificate to the car dealership, it is against the law for them to repossess the car once your mother has passed away and they will have to wait to get their money. This is why there is Probate and Probate makes sure all creditors are paid off (this includes her car) house and personal taxes, etc. If you never notified the car dealership they had no way of knowing, but they can rectify the matter. It's best to leave this sort of thing in the hands of a lawyer. A secured lender does not need to wait for the Probate process if the payments on the vehicle are not kept current. The same law applies if the deceased leaves a will and the vehicle has been given to someone, the person will have to either relinquish the vehicle or assume responsibility for the loan. A lender is not required to give notification of impending repossession action. What will happen is the deficit between the loan and what the car sells for can be filed in probate as a debt and will be paid or dismissed depending upon specific circumstances.

Can death be defined?
What does it mean when you dream about a family member dying?
In dreams, death is a symbol representing transformation or change. But every dream is unique to each individual, so such general interpretations must be considered in the light of the dreamer's circumstances: is that family member terminally ill, or caught in life-threatening habits? In such cases, the dream would be an expression of the dreamer's reasonable fear for the family member. Otherwise, "death" is a metaphor, and the "family member" might represent the dreamer's own self, and changes occurring in the dreamer's life. Also, ir these dreams and thoughts are unwanted and they tend to cause an undo amount of worrying on your part, such that other common activities in your life become much more difficult or even diminished, then you might want to consider the possibility of an underlying OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder).

How do you find death records for genealogical research?
Records of death certificates are generally kept by states, at least for the last 100 years or so. The National Center for Health Statistics has information on obtaining birth, death, marriage, and divorce records. Specifically, look at their page "Where to write for vital records" and select your state. Some of this information is also available online through Genealogy.com, if you pay for a membership. try http://www.vitalchek.com/ from the site: "Order birth certificates quickly and conveniently. Also, get copies of death, marriage, and divorce records delivered to your door." This is an excellent site. I use it regularly. Tina You can check death records FREE on line by using the Social Security Death Index at www.rootsweb.com or more specifically http://ssdi.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/ssdi.cgi Good Luck!

What does death mean to a christian?
Christians believe that when they die, they go to heaven and live a life of everlasting peace and happiness in paradise. That is assuming they were good people when they were living. If they were evil, then they go to hell and live in torment forever more. [Pave3Ant] Begging your pardon, but that is violently and offensively wrong. A Christian will go to heaven, regardless of how evil they were, just because they are a Christian - because Jesus paid the penalty for their evil, that is. Conversely, a non-Christian will go to Hell, regardless of how good they were (unless they were absulutely and utterly and continually perfect) just because there is any evil at all in their lives and because they did not turn to Jesus to pay the penalty for it. (I should add that someone who is orientated towards evil is not a Christian.) That is the difference between Christianity and every other religion (independently of whether or not it is true).

How can you distinguish if a dead body is that of a Muslim girl or a non-Muslim girl?
Answer 1 The question is very good. Because Islam is a religion and/or an ideology, there's no relation to genotype. There are no physiological aspects, inherited or emergent, that conclusively identify Islam (as opposed to some Maori religions, where tattoos can be a reliable identifier). While some geographic areas have a large percentage of Islam populations, nowhere is there 100%. Even mosques have visitors, and those whose faith is wavering. Bottom Line: You can't tell since a person's body is not changed in any way by their religious beliefs. There is no solid answer for this that could apply in all situations. Obviously, her family is likely to know, so they might be able to give you a clue. However should you trip over a deceased woman while walking down the street and no one is in the immediate vicinity who can inform you of the woman's denominational preferences in life, take the high road and dial 911 and let those who are paid to deal with such deal with it. There is no clear-cut way to tell, but here are some suggestions: Clothing If any girl is a real Muslim, she will never let her body exposed for all to see. It does not mean that all girls who do not wear the Hijab are not Muslims, but wearing a Hijab is a good indication of a girl's Muslim identity. I mean she will be under guardianship of either her father or after marriage, of her husband and does not show herself to others. If you are looking for straightforward answer, a Muslim woman or girl is always covered her entire body except her face, wrist, and foot. Without Clothing If the body had nothing with it (i.e. naked) then there is nothing that would indicate any religion. Unless a female is wearing the traditional head covering, there is no way to differentiate between a Muslim and non-Muslim. Ask Neighbors You can possibly track a relative or close friend and find out. You can research about her for example ask her relatives or her neighbors or search in her pockets to see if you find something like Qur'an or an ID card with this type of information. In most Muslim-majority countries, religion is indicated on identity cards. Reasonable Guesswork If she lay near a Muslim town, rather then a non-Muslim town, it is more likely that she is a Muslim. Therefore, she will be considered a Muslim and given a proper bath and funeral. Alternately, in South Asia, non-Muslims are usually Hindus which results in the body's cremation. Bodily Marks If she was Muslim then she must offered prayers five times a day. Then there will signs on left foot and knees due to sitting during prayers. There is also a rough sign on her forehead by making Sajda in prayers For Those Already Identified/Buried The answer is that when you see her body, it will be covered by a three piece white garment that resembles a towel. This towel is similar to the towel used in the Muslim practice of Hajj. First of all, a Muslim woman's grave looks much different from anyone's grave. Before a Muslim woman is buried in her grave, she is washed and then her whole body is covered with white cloth but her face only shows. i don't think other religions do that, that's why it's easy to identify a Muslim from a non-Muslim. Muslims usually have a vertical stone at head side of grave and for woman two stone one at head and one at foot. Some believe in the following approaches to identfy that the dead woman is Muslim or non Muslim. I list them down although I don't believe in the authenticity or the validity of any of them: According to Behlol Majzoob (book: Behlol Danaa) : When dead body is washed before burial, collect that water and give it to a horse. If the horse drinks this water then the dead body is of a Muslim woman otherwise the body is of a non Muslim. You have to bend body in the shape of Sajada. If you can bend it then leave it in that position for 1min. Check the Forehead, if a sign appears of Sajada on her forehead, then its Muslim, if not, then Non Muslim. If you can't give a shape for any reason, there is no way you can find it. Answer 2 Some options are: Scientifically; using fingerprinting, DNA, and other scientific indicators. There may be an ID card or the like. She me be known to someone by a sign or some moark on her body Her cloth if covering all her body including head, hair, and neck (not necessarily covering face and hand fingers. there may be some signs on her forehead or knees (that appear due to praying) Answer 3 Appearance of the dead-body will decide whether she is a Muslim or a non-Muslim. For example if she is wearing jewelry that is worn by Hindu women, she is a Hindu. If she is wearing a cross, she is a Christian. That is why Muslims are advised to not copy other religions and nations in their outward appearance.

Why don't our loved ones contact us or try to stay in touch with us after they've passed away?
It's comforting to believe in an afterlife, and to believe that those of our loved ones who have already deceased are in a more pleasant place. Unfortunately, there is not even a scintilla of evidence that there really is an afterlife, so it is more likely the case that there is no afterlife and that no one can ever communicate with the dead. Beliefs change over the centuries, even within Judaism and Christianity. Ecclesiastes 9:5-6 tells us: For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.

What causes the death rattle?
The death rattle happens because as your body starts to shut down it becomes incapable of performing tasks that are instinctive in everyday life. The more instinctual tasks will be the last to go and swallowing is one of these, as the saliva collects in the throat and the dying person tries to take their last breaths the resulting sound is one of a gurgle or "rattle".
