It must be written on a hard copy which in most states is an official prescription paper with at least 3 saftey features, it must also have the Prescribers DEA number their name and the name of the Patient along with the address of the Doctors practice. Demerol is a CII ( C2) Prescrition so it is highly regulated. Also CII prescriptions are only good for 6 months from the written date and can never have refills for any reason.
