Why should you gargle salt water after you get your wisdom teeth removed?
You're going to want to wait for the incisions to heal. Trust me on this one.
When Removing Wisdom teeth will straighten your teeth?
There is no proof of this statement. However, when you are going for lower or upper wisdom teeth removal, it will surely offer you some relief from pain. When the wisdom tooth is impacted, it will cause severe pain in your mouth. It will lead to impaction of the other teeth and gum tissues surrounding it. So, if you are getting them removed, it will surely promote healing. If you are in North Carolina and looking for the right oral and maxillofacial surgeon to do the procedure, then come to Dr. Richard Rolle Jr. For more details about him, click here rolleoralfacialsurgery. com/procedures/wisdom-teeth/

There are a number of different tools used in dentistry to extract a tooth. There is a tool called an elevator, which lifts the tooth. Forceps grip the tooth. If the tooth needs to be surgically removed, as it is not a simple extraction, then a drill and a scalpel may be used. Additional things that are used are anesthetics and local injections.

No. nobody die after getting wisdom or any other tooth removed . your dentist will recommend you few medical tests prior to tooth removal appointment in case if you have any systemic (whole body) problems or you show any of the systemic symptoms . dont hide any of your medical/dental history or any medical condition . otherwise it may led to complications. and dont be afraid of the procedure , talk to your dentist in case of anxiety .
After the wisdom teeth are extracted how long should you bite down on the gauze?
Bite down on the gauze, changing it every 15-30 minutes, and when the gauze has just a pinkish tint to it (instead of the dark red blood you had been seeing), then the bleeding has slowed down enough to remove it. Just do not bend over, use a straw, or smoke a cigarette or the bleeding will flare back up. If you should happen to begin to bleed again, simply put some gauze back in your mouth. Try to relax until you have reached the point where the gauze can be removed. Hope this has helped! The bleeding should stop about 20 minutes after the surgery. Although is some cases, especially after complicated extractions, the gums can start bleeding again, and you can also wake up the next morning with some blood in your mouth. It is always handy to have extra coton gauzes with you. If you have none left, you can go to rite aid or daune reade to pick up cotton
Well I'm not a dentist, but my aunt is going to college for it. I am pretty sure that dentists' DO NOT use math. I think they use numbering for the position of a tooth. I am positive that they use hours for the position that the sit on the chair. For example, if you want to sit on the chair behind your patient's head while they are lying vertical, you have to go to 12:00 (12 o' clock) position.

What should you do if bleeding continues hours after a tooth extraction?
The dentist may have provided gauze for you to apply to the wound. If you have followed their instructions, and the bleeding is more than oozing, you should contact them ( they may have an after hours number) or a local hospital. A wound will bleed for about a half-day, but excessive bleeding should be treated. A clot needs to form at the wound site, and anything that prevents this should be avoided, including frequently disturbing the site, blowing your nose a lot and coughing. Reduce activity, but keep the head elevated. See the Related Links below, and seek medical help if your situation seems out of the ordinary.
Yes, three days after surgery you will definitely still have a hole. It will probably take a few weeks to a month (on average) for the hole to close completely. As for stitches if you don't have dissoluble stitches you should go back to your dentist in about a week to have them removed, however I would recommend you ask your dentist for dissoluble stitches so you don't have to worry about any discomfort that may come with their removal.

What difference between dental plaque and bacterial plaque?
Plaque is made up of fat, cholesterol , calcium, and other substances found in the blood. When plaque builds up in the arteries, the condition is called atherosclerosis. Plaque narrows the arteries and reduces blood flow to your heart muscle. It also makes it more likely that blood clots will form in your arteries. Blood clots can partially or completely block blood flow.
:) I'm not sure if that's the right plaque, but it's a plaque...

How can you find a free or low cost dental clinic in Pennsylvania?
Contact your state's health department
There are various assistance programs that vary from state to state, so you may want to contact your state dental society to see if there are programs in your area. Another possible source of lower-cost dental care is a dental school clinic. Generally, dental costs in school clinics are reduced and may include only partial payment for professional services covering the cost of materials and equipment. Your state dental society can tell you if there is a dental school clinic in your area.

Can you stop rinsing salt water a week after tooth extractions?
My advice is to wait until you can call your dentist or doctor on the phone to ask about your specific case, because different people may have different complications. Rinsing isn't necessary to healing, so you don't absolutely need to rinse with salt water. So first, you should ask your dentist because he would know best about your specific case. I read several articles using a google search and in general the consensus seems to be that you shouldn't rinse with salt water until at least 24 hours after extraction. After 24 hours it seems to be okay, but there is always the risk of knocking out the blood clot and getting dry socket. You should read the article below on dry socket. You don't want to get dry socket, so you should definitely avoid sucking at the blood clot, or excessive rinsing, or smoking, or anything else that could dislodge the blood clot. Rinsing with salt water is supposed to be soothing, and is also supposed to be beneficial. However, you have to make sure not to rinse excessively, and you should make sure to ask your dentist or doctor when it is proper to begin rinsing, and also how often you should rinse, making sure not to rinse too often. Dry socket: http://www.dentalgentlecare.com/dry_socket.htm These websites all have information on rinsing with salt water after a tooth extraction. http://www.animated-teeth.com/tooth_extractions/t7_instructions_post-op.htm http://en.allexperts.com/q/Dentistry-966/use-warm-salt-water-1.htm http://ezinearticles.com/?What-to-Do-after-a-Tooth-Extraction?&id=348305 http://sci.tech-archive.net/Archive/sci.med.dentistry/2008-03/msg00071.html Google search for "rinse with salt water after tooth extraction" http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=rinse+with+salt+water+after+tooth+extraction&aq=f&oq=&aqi=
When should you have wisdom teeth removed?
So long as they're healthy and not causing problems with your jaw, there's no need to have wisdom teeth removed. Everyone's teeth are different, so any decision to keep or remove wisdom teeth should be made in conjunction with your dentist and/or orthodontist.
---------- Actually I am living proof that adult permanent teeth (at least my two front ones) do indeed slowly grow as they wear down. When I was a kid, I had an accident that damaged the outer surface of my two front middle lower teeth below the gumline. As I aged, the marks slowly showed higher and higher on my teeth and now I am 61 and the marks have almost disappeared off the top of my teeth. It has taken something like 50 years for the tooth to grow the length of itself above the gumline. If you think of it, as a tooth wears, it must indeed keep replacing itself, otherwise older people would have nothing left of their teeth, just nubs. And this also shows me that indeed my teeth have worn that much in 60 years. I mentioned this to my dentist yesterday, and he as much as called me stupid for suggesting that adult teeth grew. Not possible said he, I must be confused and mistaken.
Will gaps between teeth get bigger over time?
