While it is not true that if your parents have a lot of decay, you will also have a lot of decay, it is true that there is a genetic predisposition to tooth decay. This simply means that you may have to work harder to maintain good oral hygiene to prevent tooth decay.

Tooth decay is primarily a function of poor oral hygiene. Keep you mouth adequately clean, see your dentist and hygienist frequently, follow their advice, and you will likely experience less tooth decay.

This depends on many factors, including the age of the person and their health. As long as heart rate, oxygen saturation, and other vital signs are closely monitored, people can safely be sedated for extended periods of time, in some cases weeks or months (or in very rare and extreme cases, years). Such extended sedation, however, can have its own side-effects upon waking, most notably muscular atrophy from lack of use.

However long a dental procedure may take, the patient would probably be safe if his or her vitals are monitored appropriately and care is taken when appropriating and administrating anesthesia.

An Emergence Profile in relation to dentistry is the way the tooth structure comes out (or emerges) from the bone in relation to the gum tissue. It has to be with the angles and lines of the crown of the tooth and the gum tissue. It directly influences the surrounding tissue and adjacent teeth.

We also hear about the submergence-profile and this is a way to differentiate in between the line angles of the teeth under the CEJ (cemento-enamel junction) or the connection between the crown of the teeth and the root, ant those profiles over the CEJ that will be the emergence profile.

a hole in a tooth is called a cavity and is caused by too much sugar and germs and crap like that in your teeth and isn't coming off. when it bleeds it is probably from it coming through to the gum of your mouth and the prickles on your toothbrushscratch your gum. its really not too bad but i think you can get your dentist to fill them in for you maybe you should ask him/her.

You probably have a bruise and/or hematoma and/or abscess. If it is painful and/or you feel feverish I should go back to the dentist.

If you bite the orthodontist purposely, they may ask you to find another dentist and most likely will not refund you for dental work already performed. If it's an accident, just say you are sorry as accidents do happen and it's sometimes hard to keep your mouth open for a long time. OK, you have taken a certain amount of time and effort to post this question. Compare that to the effort, time and pride that the orthodontist who straightened out your teeth invested. Granted, the orthodontist was paid and your effort cost little, imagine if your question went unanswered. The orthodontist is not mad, but, you have to believe that when you don't follow orders, there is a certain amount of frustration. Wear your retainer and respect your orthodontist's advice. There is no other way to avoid annoying your orthodontist.
