How many marks do you need in university to bacome a dentist?

"Marks"? Confused. In the ordinary course of things, one must have (at least) an associates' degree --- preferably (today) a bachelor's degree. The disciplines must include organic/inorganic chemistry; at least 101 + 102 physics; biology 101 + 102, preferably in vertebrate/invertebrate biology; cell (biocellular dynamics); math through calculus; and have studied the "core ciriculum", as in English, humanities, social science, etc. The point being, that it is just as difficult to get into Dental school, today, as it is to get into Medical school. So do your homework and get your degree.

I still have a sharp pain similar to toothache after a tooth extraction 4 days agao.. i had it checked yesterday no infection and a healing paste put on but still the pain remains what could it be?

I have/had the same as you. I think they call it referred or transferred pain.

I would suggest take the pain killers that have been prescribed for you.

If you had it checked out and its ok, then it should be ok. Just referred pain.

Should you worry about food getting stuck in the socket where your wisdom teeth were pulled?

Just avoid foods that are hard and crunchy for about two weeks. This would include nuts and popcorn, that type of food. You are trying to avoid getting something stuck in the socket that could delay the healing process or cause an infection. Usually by two weeks, the gum tissue should close the socket (epithelize) so food will not be a concern.

Unless you begin to feel increasing pain days after the extraction, don't worry about it. The sockets are usually self-cleansing. If you do feel increasing pain, call the surgeon and let him/her take a look. Follow their advice.

Is it safe if the dentist said to wait three days until your next appointment to take a prophylaxis antibiotic to pull an abscessed tooth?

How did kimberly bergalis get HIV FROM HER DENTIST?

It isn't clear, in retrospect, whether Bergalis actually did get HIV from her dentist.

Recent information has come to light that the CDC may have made errors in declaring the strain of HIV which infected Bergalis to be the same as Bergalis.

Additionally, examinations conducted on Bergalis posthumously discovered HPV infections (genital warts). Therefore, her sexual history has been called into question.

It is quite possible that HPV was transmitted to Bergalis via birth, or that she contracted HPV in the 2 years after she contracted HIV. Neither of her two admitted boyfriends were diagnosed with HPV.

Can you have a wisdom tooth removed without having stitches?

I have had all my wisdom teeth removed and have never had stitches (Sweden). They were all removed in the same way by different dentists. Local anaesthetic followed by brute force pulling (sounds alot worse than it is).

The "opening" left behind heals itself fairly easy. Just had a compressor against it for a few hours for some residual bleeding.

Pulling a tooth is not much worse than any other treatment, however the healthier and the more visible the wisdom tooth is, the easier the pull will be.

When is ok to remove the guaze form an tooth extraction?

Is it better to have wisdom teeth pulled at a young or old age?

Better to get it out when you are younger, the tooth is not as embedded as compared to when you grow older. Got my upper two and one lower - right side(with stiches) - pulled at 30 - no problems and could take the pain, just got my left wishdom pulled - am now 46 - boy oh boy if only i can describe the pain . doc had a hard time pulling it out too - guess with age my pain tolerence level is not what it use to be - still painful 1 1/2 weeks later.

How do you know when to eat after wisdom teeth surgery?

Generally, fluids are recommended the first day. You can start eating (not chewing) the next day. Start with soft foods (eg: mashed potatoes, yoghurt) and move onto semi-solid foods (eg: cracked wheat, mac & cheese) when you feel comfortable opening your jaw and chewing a little. You should be able to eat normally by the end of the first week. But take care to chew with the front teeth and rinse after every small meal.

What should you eat or drink after having 4 wisdom teeth pulled if you haven't had anything to eat or drink in almost 24 hours?

Well, within the first 24 hours, while you are packing the sides of your face with ice, it doesn't hurt to have a milkshake or soft serve ice cream, but you MUST eat with a spoon, do NOT use a straw, because a straw will cause a suction that will be painful especially if it causes those blood clots in your mouth to fall out. After those first 24 hours are up, as your doctor/dentist would suggest, to eat soft foods. Well, while i was still deciding what i should eat, I picked up those meal replacment drinks. Those are good enough, but i would also suggest at least 2 bottles of water within the whole day, since if you drink only the meal replacement, you might have of couple of bowel problems (ie - constipation) After I was thinking about food ( getting desperate here for actual food haha) bananas, and strawberries chopped up are perfect- they are healthy, and small/slimy enough to slide down your throat without the risk of getting stuck if you just happen to still have difficulty swallowing. you can also have a slice of toast, cut into 5 thin slices ( or a sandwich also cut in 5 thin slices) ad take tiny tiny bites and take your time - the first i tried this, it took me a half hour, gets easier after the first couple of times you have to stop yourself from chewing in the back, but those tiny bites you take should be tiny enough for you to swallow without chewing. after about a week of this type of eating, you SHOULD be able to move on to more solid foods. HOPE THIS HELPED!!! ( i got my teeth pulled a week ago)
