If your contract with DirecTV is up, then all you need to do is research the starting rate a competitor is offering. Call DirecTV, tell them what the other company is offering you, and that if they can't make you a deal then you are going to switch. Normally they will give you a price break for 6 months, so whenever your price goes back up just rinse and repeat.
