In 1945, the FCC decided to reserve channel 1 for low-power community television stations, and moved existing channel 1 stations to higher frequencies.

Hello... Satellite Direct is legitimate. I'm a current user of the software and service and have been for a number of years. ETV Corp have improved the product/service immensely as of late. Though negative comments were posted a year or more ago, it's best to ignore them and focus on comments and information that were posted over the pass 6 months.

The service now offers a Main version and Advanced version for Windows and Mac OS X computers as well as Mobile Android Devices. By far the fastest, easiest and low cost approach to setting up a web TV system that delivers lots of free entertaining channels. Here's a good source to find out more...

Connect the Ethernet cable to the top port of the DVR and an open port on the router. Check that the router has DHCP enabled (essential). Do a red button (inside card door) reset of the DVR. When it's booted up, do thus: Menu -> .....setup -> system setup -> network setup -> restore defaults. At this point stop and go to your router and disconnect AC power for a minute and plug it back in. When all the lights settle down, go back to the DVR and run the "connect now" command. You should get a "connected to Internet" message.

Yes and no. The "no" part refers to the fact that you have a volume control on your TV (or in the remote control device), and you can make the sound louder or softer, or even mute it, if you want to do so. But the "yes" part refers to studies that have shown that some networks intentionally program their commercials to play louder than the rest of what's on the air. They're not supposed to, but it still does happen. All you can do about it is turn down the volume when these loud commercials begin to play.
