Divorce only ends the 'nuclear' family, the group made up of mother, father, and their children. Most families include many more people such as grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins or even half siblings and step parents. Divorce does not change these relationships except by deliberate actions by the divorcing couple. The degree to which a family is 'ended' is up to the individuals involved and children of divorce have the ability to maintain family relationships with other family members, even if they have to wait until they've reached their own majority.

Ok the property is held in joint tenancy which means upon the death of one of the joint tenants, the property, by operation of law, passes to the survivor. The Divorce Decree (Judgment) does not effect this. Now if a memorandum of the Divorce Decree was recorded it would become a lien on the property and would eventually have to be satisfied from a sale.

If both of the joint tenants are alive, the Divorce Decree controls. If one of the joint tenants dies the estate of the deceased joint tenant would have a claim against the surviving joint tenant under the Decree.

Yes - if you live within a jurisdiction with "no-fault" divorce laws. Where "at-fault divorce" laws are in effect, a party requesting a divorce must demonstrate that there are grounds for the divorce. you could still call her your aunt if you want but it really depends how she is related to you...like if she is one of your parents sister, then she is still your aunt, but if she was married to one of your parents siblings then she isn't technically your aunt anymore.

YES, but it will probably be expensive (unless your ex agrees to it, otherwise you'll have to pay an attorney to go to battle for you! If he/she agrees to it you can probably file at your clerk of courts office. If not you will need an attorney & they get $200 to $450 an hour & they charge for footwork & paperwork & phone calls !!!

If you were married to him when he died, then you are considered widowed.

If you divorced him before he died, then you are considered divorced.

However, for the purposes of religion, if your religion does not recognize divorce, then you are considered widowed, even if you divorced your husband before he died, and you should not have to seek an annulment.

No appearence means that someone who was meant to be present, in court, wasn't there - didn't appear = no appearence.
