How do you stop dog growling when he is feeding?

Wolves are wild animals, not pets. Any animal that may be even part wild is a danger to other animals an people. Wolves as pets and even half-wolves are very unpredictable creatures and may display hostile behavior without warning. They should be kept away from other animals and also children. Pets that are or may be part wild or feral should also be monitered closely for extremely dangerous behavior. Extreme care should be taken with a "pet" such as this. Dogs are pets because they have lived with humans as such for generations upon generations. Wolves and other wild animals do not have this sort of conditioning and therefore do not make safe pets. Extra caution should be taken when attempting to keep such an animal as a pet.

As a restaurant owner how do you know the dog is a service dog or just a pet?

The first clue is the animal's demeanor and behavior. A service animal should be very well behaved and obedient. A dog who wanders around at the end of the leash aimlessly probably isn't a service animal. If you still aren't certain, you can ask the animal's owner if it is a service dog. Businesses are permitted to ask whether an animal is a service animal, and what tasks the animal is trained to perform that the human handler cannot do for themselves. The business is not, however, permitted to ask for information about the specific nature of the person's disability or other invasive questions. If an animal is not trained to perform tasks to mitigate the handler's disability, then it isn't a service animal under the ADA. Guide dogs usually wear a special leather harness that helps them to guide their owner. In addition to the harness, the owner will also use a leash for controlling and directing the dog. Most other types of service animal wear some sort of marking such as a vest or cape, or special gear, like a harness. However, not all service dogs will wear special markings. Under the ADA, they aren't required to be marked. Unfortunately, the presence or absence of a cape or gear alone doesn't make it clear whether or not an animal is really a service animal.

Unfortunately there are unscrupulous people who buy gear over the Internet to try to pass their pets off as service animals. Sadly, this is also true with certification. Anyone can forge their own certification or purchase fake certification over the Internet for their pets. Many states have begun taking steps to prosecute those who falsely claim their pets as service animals with stiff fines and jail time.

Can you crate two dogs in one crate?

Yes you can and you often have to if you are using a crate to house train a young puppy. Some crates come with a divider panel that you can place where ever you need it in the crate depending on the size of your dog. If yours does not have a panel you could use a piece of plywood cut to fit inside. Sometimes if the space is much bigger than the dog they will still eliminate in the crate. Dividing it and making the space smaller usually corrects this.

What is a guard dog?

Many people are used to take their dogs with them to travel, vacation, work, etc. Dog guards are used in the cars to keep the dogs from moving on all over the seats and probably making troubles.

How big should a puppy's crate be?

The weight of the dog usually doesn't matter. But the size does! If you are buying a crate, then make sure it is big enough for you dog to stand up,turn around, and lay in. Now if you have a puppy, your puppy is probobly gonna potty in their crate. So make sure that it is just big enought to stand, turn around, and lay down in. Or they will go potty. But if it's a bigger dog it can be as big as you like. Answer: In addition to the great response above me if you have a large breed puppy you can purchase a larger crate but buy a divider to change how much room the puppy will have since large breed puppies grow very quickly. ---- How to Size your Dog for a Dog Crate. Dogs are by nature den creatures and desire a place of their own. A crate located in your home gives your dog a place to call their own. It provides them security and comfort. Dog crates come in many different sizes. To determine the appropriate Dog Crate Size, measure your dog's height and length. The best crate will allow your dog to stand up on all fours without having to bend their necks to shoulder level. The crate should also allow your dog to lie down and stretch his full body length without being cramped and they should be able to turn around easily. You do not want a dog crate that is too big either. When a dog has too much room in the crate, he/she might decide to go potty in one corner and sleep in the other. If the crate is just the right size for sleeping and lounging, the dog will usually not go potty in the same place it sleeps or lives. If you have a puppy, you will most likely want to buy a bigger size crate that will work as your puppy grows. Make sure that the crate you purchase has a divider panel. A divider panel allows you to adjust the size of the crate as your puppy grows. A divider panel solves the problem of a crate being too big. Dog crates are available in single door, double door and triple door design. Multiple doors allow you more access to your pet and their living quarters. It's up to you as to how much access you want to the crate. Most dog crates come with a free pan. A pan is usually made of durable plastic and serves as the floor of the crate. The pan can be easily cleaned if there are any accidents and for just regular maintenance. Divider panels can also come with a crate or can be an optional feature. What do you do if your dog keeps running away?

You didn't say if you were out with the dog, but sounds like you had the dog tied up ... don't! Use chicken wire for a doggie run if you have too. I don't blame any dog for running if they are tied up most of the time. Dogs just like freedom like we do, but 9 chances out of ten the dog will come back on it's own. Don't scold the dog! If you live in the city then put up posters at stores (ask the owners), vets close by or advertise in the newspaper. Keep checking with your ASPCA and go down because they are busy and may over-look your dog.

Good luck

AnswerI don't see anything in your question to imply you were doing anything wrong, or how the dog was restrained. And when he returns, or you find him (I most certainly hope you do): Get a halter type collar that he can't slip out of again. They retain the animal without placing stress on the neck and leading to possible chocking. Answer">AnswerI would make the collar tighter if I ever caught the Dog!

MY ANSWER: i think that you should go to a big open space(maybe like a park) but somewhere he cannot escape and run him and play fetch and chase him. Just let him have some free running time. He would like it!-sorry i kept on saying HE your dog could be a SHE. GOOD LUCK!

u could catch the dog with food and make its collar tighter or buy a harness

u could go chasing after it like most people but if itz trained kall its name. when ever u get ur dog back don't tighten the collar it might choke just put it 2 the next hole or 2.if u have a harnest i recommend tighten it a little bit. if that doesnt work and ur dog runs off again have neighbor's help u get or dog back. or maybe itz time 2get a stronger collar or harnest.

The answer is not to make the collar tighter, unless it was really loose. A dog collar should be fitted with you able to get two fingers under the collar when it is on your dog. I have no idea whether your dog was with you or tethered so I won't comment on that. A harness is the answer either way. I have left some links to various types of dog harnesses.

How do you stop a neighbors dog from urinating in my yard?

Well If you spray vinegar on the spot they wont like sent and wont go by it or maybe another strong as vinegar substance will work. Tiger urine can be purchased at many home and garden stores. The dogs will not know what the scent is, but will recognize it as a big cat and will avoid it.

Why is my trained dog having accidents?

  • Make sure the crate is not too big and that there are no absorbent materials in it at first. Make sure the dog is not left in the crate longer than he can hold it. Give the dog plenty of opportunity to go outside before going into crate. Be on a set schedule.
  • In the first place why is your dog in a crate? You should train your dog from a pup (they usually are partially trained by their mother) by feeding the puppy and know that 15 - 20 minutes later the pup needs to go outside to do their business and you go out with them. I also train my dogs on newspaper (in case of emergencies or my husband and I will be a little later than usual getting home and I don't like my dogs to have to hold in their urine or bowel movements.) Get the dog out of the crate! If you don't know how to train your dog then get a trainer to help you. It's not good psychologically for a dog to be left in any crate when they are adults. You are the head of the pack so start acting like it and start working with your dog to train it.

How do you stop a dog barking at night?

My Neighbors And The Dogs From Hell!

We had been having trouble for months with our neighbors and their dogs. The dogs will bark all day and all night and it does not seem to bother them.

I have tried everything from cursing at the neighbors to calling the cops but nothing worked and it seemed like the cops felt like they had better things to do.

I finally found a solution to this problem and I could not believe how easy it was. Just go to http://www.antibarkingdevice.com and it will show exactly how to stop your neighbor's dog from barking.

I just popped their CD into my stereo and blasted the dog with an ultrasonic sound that humans cannot hear. It worked after one day and I was totally amazed. Anytime I hear them bark, I give them a taste of the blast just to remind them not to bark. You will love the power of shutting them up!

How do you teach a dog a hand shake?

First, teach him to sit. Gently take hold of his paw while saying, "paw," or "shake." Choose the command that works best for you. While holding the paw, give him a treat. Repeat this several times until he is comfortable letting you hold his paw for 30 seconds or more. The next step is to get him to offer his paw instead of waiting for you to pick it up. Hold out your hand as if you are about to take his paw, and give his command. If he raises his paw, go ahead and take it and give him a reward. If he raises it and puts it in your hand, give him several treats in a row and lots of praise (this is called a "jackpot"). Eventually he will learn to put his paw in your hand when you give the command. It's easy to extend shaking to doing a "high five." Start with a dog who knows how to shake. Instead of giving your shake command, use a new one. I use "high five." Hold out your hand as if to shake, but instead of holding it palm up, hold it in the 'high five' position, but at the same height as you usually put your hand to shake. Odds are good he'll make a guess and put his paw on your hand. When he does, give lots of praise and a reward. Gradually raise your hand each time you do 'high five' and he'll learn to aim higher than he does with a shake.

Do dogs sit and pee?

Well, it's kind of disgusting to say, but they do it pretty much the same way we do it, except they go outside, if we're lucky. They just go outside, then, if it's a boy, lift up it's leg and let a stream of pee out. Basically the same with girls, but, they just squat.

How do you teach your dog to clean up its toys?

Give them the toy in their mouth, go to the place where you want them to keep their toys and call them. Then ask them to drop or take the toy and place it on the floor while repeating a simple command like "keep" or something. Offer a treat or pat and praise. Do this everytime after playing or daily. In the long run, your dog will do it by itself as a habit
