How do you teach your puppy to pee in the backyard?
i know it sound hard but my puppy learned like this when it pees spank him/her and take the dog out side for at least 5 min.
Another opinion:
Never spank a dog, ever! Not only will the puppy not know why it's being spanked, but it will cause it to be afraid of you and not trust you, as well as possibly having emotional issues. To spank or hit an animal is wrong, and it's cruel. It's not "teaching", it's revenge.
To house train a puppy, you have to be willing to take the time and effort to work with it, but if you are consistent, it will pay off, resulting in you and your dog having a great, loving and trusting relationship.
Take the puppy outside every time it eats, drinks, wakes up, or has a good play session. When you take it outside, take it to the area where you want it to do its business, and use the words you want to teach it, such as "go potty'. After the dog "goes potty' praise it, letting it know you are very pleased with it. This is called "positive reinforcement", which is extremely effective.
Dogs actually WANT to please you, and they will respond quite well to praise. But YOU have to be very diligent about taking it outside at the specified times (stated above). Also, when you take it outside, be sure to give it long enough to do its business. You may need to give it ten minutes or more, especially at first.

How do you know when a dog is ready to be left out overnight or home alone?
You should start off leaving him/her for 30 seconds at a time, the 1 min and so on. Build it up over a few weeks until you are at 30 mins say. Always leave music on on a low volume if possible when you have to leave. Kong toys are also a great toy to leave for them to keep them busy. Look up 'the fun times guide-how to stuff a kong toy' to show you the proper way to fill them...hope this helps...my facebook page is 'Ians Dog Training' if you need any more help...cheer's.
What is the best way to make your dog realize he is not the alpha and you are?
The best way of making your dog realize that he is not the alpha and you are is by training it.
NEVER beat a puppy!!! NEVER. Young puppies should be handled gently and will learn MUCH more by reward than by hurting them. If you hurt them they learn that YOU ARE MEAN. That is ANIMAL ABUSE. Puppies need to urinate more frequently than more mature dogs. Take her outside at least every couple of hours and reward her every time she pees outside, by praising her and maybe giving her a small treat. She will begin to understand that peeing outside is a good thing. When you catch her in the act of peeing inside, say NO firmly (do not yell!) and take her outside immediately. NEVER hit a puppy. Another thing is that young puppies, just like human babies, are learning how to control their bodies so they may urinate when excited. They can grow out of this but you need to be patient just as you would with a child.

How do you train a large 7 week old puppy to quit terrorizing the indoor cat?
We have a 7 week old blue heeler who also has a fascination with our cat. In my experience we let the cat show his dominance, by giving the pup a few (non-claw) hits so that the pup learnt that the cat not something to be played with (as he should be, as the cat was here before the pup). It only took about a week before the pup learnt the cat was no fun and they happily leave each other now alone, we are even starting to notice the cat teasing the pup for attention
you can run away from the dog and he/she will chase you. BE CAREFULL the dog might try to bite! Hope this helps!
My dog is very aggressive with other dogs. We want him to play with them. What can I do?
There's a short period in every puppy's development, from very early puppyhood to three or four months of age, when his experiences have a big effect on his entire approach to life. Bad experiences during this period can develop them into being fearful and aggressive of other dogs and people...

I thought dogs do not pee where they sleep?
personally I think the answer to that gets technical. I have seen dogs that will not pee exactly where they sleep but say 6 inches beside it they will. I guess it depends on how you look at it. I was always told that too though, but in owning 3 dogs from the time they were 6-8 weeks old, has taught me otherwise.
The only dogs that come close to not shedding at all are the hairless breeds such as the Mexican Hairless Dog and the Peruvian Inca Orchid. They too usually have a tiny bit of fur on their head and sometimes on other places such as the tail, but it's not usually enough for owners to notice any significant shedding.
Examples of low shedding dogs include; Whippet, Poodle, Maltese, Italian Greyhound, Saluki, Basenji, Puli, and many more. These dogs do shed, but far less than Labrador Retrievers, for example, who can at times leave a trail of fur behind everywhere they go

When is the best time to take the puppy from it's mother?
The best time to remove a puppy from its mother is once it is weaned. A puppy should remain with the litter until at least six weeks old, preferably eight weeks old. The longer it is on mother's milk, the healthier it will be but it may be better if you get it earlier because if it remembers its family it can die earlier from depression
