How drake became successful?

In February 2006, Graham released his first mixtape Room for Improvement. It was made available via his website and official MySpace page. In 2007, he released another mixtape, Comeback Season, spawning a single and a music video for "Replacement Girl" featuring Trey Songz. Also in 2007, Graham became the first unsigned Canadian rapper to have his music video featured on BET when his first single, "Replacement Girl" was featured as the "New Joint of the Day" on April 30, 2007.[17] It also contained a freestyle over a song with Lil Wayne, a remix of "Man of the Year" originally by Brisco and Flo Rida. In 2008, Lil Wayne was given some of Drake's music from Rap-A-Lot founder, J. Prince's son, Jas Prince, and he immediately called Graham to invite him to fly to Houston and tour with him. Graham and Wayne recorded a couple of songs during this time, including "Ransom", the original version of "Forever", and the remix to Drake's song, "Brand New". Though now part of Lil Wayne's crew, Young Money, Drake was not signed.

How did Drake get discovered?

Known initially for his role as Jimmy Brooks on Degrassi: The Next Generation, Toronto, Ontario, native Drake (born Aubrey Drake Graham) stepped out as a rapper and singer with pop appeal in 2006, when he initiated a series of mixtapes. A year later, despite being unsigned, he scored major exposure when his cocky and laid-back track "Replacement Girl," featuring Trey Songz, was featured on BET's 106 & Park program as its "Joint of the Day." He raised his profile throughout the next several months by popping up on countless mixtapes and remixes, and as rumors swirled about contract offers from labels, he gradually became one of the most talked-about artists in the industry. It did not hurt that he had support from the likes of Kanye West, Jay-Z, and Lil Wayne. By the end of June 2009, "Best I Ever Had," a promotional single, had climbed to number two on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. After a fierce bidding war, Drake signed with Universal Motown in late summer and released an EP (So Far Gone) made up of songs from his popular So Far Gone mixtape. It peaked at number six on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart and won a 2010 Juno Award for Rap Recording of the Year. Thank Me Later, a full-length featuring collaborations with the Kings of Leon, The Dream, Jay-Z, Kanye, and Weezy, was issued through Young Money the following year.

Is Jewish an ethnicity?

Yes. It is unique in religious groups, in that it is both an ethnic and religious group.

Some Jews do not see themselves as ethnic Jews, but do follow Judaism (some Arab Jews, Berber Jews, etc.).

Others see themselves as ethnic Jews, but don't follow Judaism (secular Jews, Christian Jews, Muslim Jews, etc.)

Both views hold water. Jews as a religious group used to rarely intermix with other groups, making them their own people. They identify with Hebrew/Israelite descent as well.

There are many Jewish ethnic subgroups as well. The largest Jewish peoples are:

Ashkenazis, or German Jews. They are found in Germanic and Slavic countries, and have origins in Germany. They are also found in France, as well as in the Jewish diaspora (United States, Australia, etc.). They are the largest Jewish people in Israel, as well as the largest in the world!

Saphardis, or Spanish Jews. These Jews are found in Spain, Portugal, France and North Africa. Many were persecuted in Spain and left to the north (France) and the south (North Africa). They are the second largest Jewish group, in both Israel and the world.

Mizrahis, or Middle Eastern Jews. They are found in the Middle East and North Africa. A subgroup of this group are the Yemenite Jews. They are the third largest Jewish group, and sometimes seen as the "purest" (most Jewish). This is due to the fact that Jews around the world look very similar to the majority non-Jewish ethnic group in the same country. Two other subgroups that are based on linguistic/cultural background are the Arab Jews, Kurdish Jews, Persian Jews and Berber Jews.

Those are the three largest groups. There are smaller groups of European Jews, African Jews, Indian Jews and Chinese Jews, including:

Bene Roma (Italian Jews) - not the only Jews in Italy, there are also Ashkenazi/Saphardi Italians.

Romaniotes (Greek Jews)

Indian Jews - Cochin Jews (Malayali Jews), Bene Israel (Marathi Jews), Baghdadi Jews (Arab/Marathi Jews), Bnei Menashe (Mizo and Kuki Jews) and finally Bene Ephraim, or Telugu Jews.

Kaifeng Jews (Chinese Jews)

Georgian Jews

Armenian Jews

Mountain Jews (Azeri and Dagestani Jews)

Bukhari Jews

Beta Israel (Ethiopian Jews)
