If you find bird eggs on the ground and keep them will they still hatch?

How long the egg may have been left in the open can be a determining factor in whether the egg is able to hatch. Do you know how long the egg has been left out to the elements?

Even if you were successful in getting an egg to hatch, the survival chances of the young nestling would be minimal at best.

Feeding a nestling would require a commitment of 16 hours a day 7 days a week for 2 weeks on average. Dietary needs of baby birds vary with species. Not all birds eat worms. Most require a variety of insects delivered several times each hour of the day

The best thing you can do is respect the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and leave the egg alone. In most cases it is unlikely the egg would hatch.

If you know the egg is from a rare or endangered species, call your state fish and wildlife agency or a wildlife rehabilitator.

How do people harm ducks by littering?

it can make them very sick! Duh

when ducks see litter they don't realize that it's not food or that it's not safe for them to eat. when they eat it it can get lodged in their throats and they can choke. another danger is if it is poisonous they can get very sick. or the duck could bring the litter back to their chicks and the chicks could suffer the same fate as their parents. what ever happens to them, litter is VERY dangerousto ALL animals so never litter. don't throw your trash out the window, if your can is over flowing put the trash in a bag so it won't blow around, use less cheap plastic items, use paperor reusable grocery bags, if you see trash lying around DON'T JUST IGNORE IT! PICK IT UP! And less animals will die! Help the environment, make less waste! And if you have to make waste, clean it up!

What make its feet useful for swimming?

the webbed part, it helps them to resist water more... making them swim faster.
Depending on the species, different birds have different adaptations that make their feet useful for swimming. Some birds (such as ducks) have webbing between their toes, others (such as moorhens) have flattened toes. In both cases the birds use their feet as paddles.

Most birds' feet are not useful for swimming at all, and many species will not even attempt to swim (or are only able to swim very poorly). Ironically, despite being the most iconic swimming birds, penguins do not have any foot adaptations to help them swim. They use their wings to 'fly' through the water.

Where do ducks mostly find food?

Ducks mostly find food in the pond which is either pond fish or bread sunk from tourists that fed them.

But the duck would have to find food in their habitat as they cant leave the nest out of sight as either if they have eggs a blackbird or a crow will come and eat them. Or if another bird lands in it, the senses will be left in the nest and when the duck comes back the sense of the other bird that was there will be smelt by the other duck and fly off making another nest in a quieter place as they can find.
