Actually it depends who you are good with. I can beat Lu Bu on Dynasty Warriors 3 with Zhou Yu and his Elder Sword. I'm awesome like that, beating Lu Bu the way that isn't cheap. And it pays off.

When you get a new horse on nearly any level any of them could be red hare. just get a horse to lv.5 be Lu Bu and ride it, if it is Red with Gold straps/chains It Is Red Hare, there is a 25% chance you will gain the red hare horse says game creators koei.

Here is from my experience, I found Dynasty Warriors Extreme Legend edition is more like an RPG - you get gold and you have one shot to win in Musou Mode. It's pretty interesting. If you want to spice things up and have been sticking with the normal Dynasty Warriors 1- 7 or any two, then I'd say go for this one. Dynasty Warriors 7 is the plain version, most likely with upgrades to GUI as well as new characters. Same for XL, though. My recommendation is based on your taste.
