If you just had a baby 2 months ago and you take a pregnancy test will that show the pregnancy hormone for the last pregnancy?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The hormone HCG decreases during your 3rd trimester and is fairly low by the time you give birth (This is part of what starts labor). By 2 months after birth, the hormone has completely left your system. So....a positive test at this time would indicate that you are pregnant again. There has been known to be false positives, so get a blood test to be sure. And if this is what you want, may I say congratulations!

herpes and pregnancy are two different things. herpes is an infection and it can be brought out by stress and worry. We have medication like acyclovir to minimize the discomfort. Make sure if you are pregnant to tell your doctor so he/she can deliver you safely and prevent blindness in the baby. but No herpes is not a sign of pregnancy. Joymaker rn

Will you have a positive pregnancy test after surgery for ectopic pregnancy?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

You certainly can go on to have a healthy pregnancy or pregnancies after having an ectopic pregnancy. If you had your tube removed, and still have one working tube and ovary, your chances of getting pregnant each month are simply half that of a woman with 2 functioning ovaries and tubes. This is because your ovary will most likely only release an egg every other month, as it always has.

Is hunger a symptom of early pregnancy?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I am a mother of two little ones and my youngest is now six months old. During both times, I was feeling pretty bad about my morning sickness, and the hunger pangs that followed next just made things worse. There was this time during the first trimester of my first pregnancy that I was craving something sweet, and I ordered a cake and remember eating all of it by myself throughout the day.

But of course, I wasn’t going to continue doing that, so I took help from *drumrolls* Google and read about how I could control my hunger pangs. I learned that from Parenthoodbliss website even though it’s absolutely normal, it’ll gradually subside towards the third trimester and IT DID! There were days when I wasn’t hungry at all but still did for the baby.

So, if you’re in your first trimester and are feeling hungry most of the time, don’t worry! Just snack on something healthy and you’re good to go!

How long can an ectopic pregnancy last for?

I was told to wait at least 3 months before trying again. You will also want to get your tubes x-rayed to try and see what may have caused the ectopic pregnancy (something in your tube blocking the fetus from reaching your uterus).

Is it normal if you've had an ultrasound at approximately six weeks gestation but no fetal pole was found nor yolk sac identified?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

at six weeks & one day since my LMP they told me I had a sack. they sent me home w/ a picture from the ultrasound. said it was too early to hear a heart. the technician was sketchy about details & informed me "someone would call me & inform me of the next step" -- the next step. i never got a phone call. in the meantime i was so excited to be pregnant i told EVERYONE. my next doctors appointment was scheduled for 11 weeks (since LMP) week 8 they called me, but only to push my appointment out to 13 weeks. at nine weeks i woke up bleeding, it got worse & worse at by 10:00 that night i passed a very bloody large sack the size of two adult thumbs. no one ever told me this pregnancy wasn't viable. like a jerk I told all my friends & family I was expecting a baby. they had to have known something to order an ultrasound so early. they knew. they had to have saw something to use the verbage, "the next step" -- but no one ever called me so like a fool I went & told everyone & showed anyone who would look at my ultrasound picture! I hate doctors. if you don't hear a heartbeat be suspicious. pester them. call again & again. everyone is so afraid of liability no one wants to take responsibility for anything. you need to take responsibility for yourself. do not expect anything. it doesn't matter that you pay close to $700 a month for a family plan for healthcare. be your own advocate. read. be informed. and above all DO NOT tell everyone you are pregnant before you hear a heartbeat!

Is it possible for a pregnancy test to tell if you are pregnant a week after conception?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The first respons test can I thank it does I found out by it when I was only two weeks. No...it is way too early! Wait till you've missed your period...bc the egg takes 8-14 days to fertilize and secrete the hormone that tells you if you are pregnant! Good luck! HCG pregnancy tests determine pregnancy through the detection of the hormone hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) in a woman's urine. Clinically speaking, HCG is measured in thousandths of International Units, or mIU. Pregnancy tests with a sensitivity of 20 mIU/ml are more sensitive than tests with 50 to 100 mIU/ml. Test brands will display how sensitive their tests are using mIU as the standard unit of measure. Test sensitivity equates with early-detection - and the lower the number, the sooner a test can detect pregnancy. The most sensitive pregnancy tests can detect hCG levels at as low as 20 mIU - or at around 8 DAYS following implantation of the egg.

How do you know if it's an ectopic pregnancy without having a scan?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

You would have extremely bad lower abdominal cramps. The ones you can't walk with. If you are pregnant now and are concerned tell your doctor. Your tubes can burst and get an infection following it.

Further to this- 5 women in the UK die every year from missed ectopic. Also, you will most like have prune- juice like bleeding- dark and syrupy. Treatment is either a shot or surgery which may lead to the loss of the affected tube.
