Is battery is inductive or capacitive load?

A battery is usually thought of as a source, not a load. If you are charging a battery, then it will be resistive, especially if you are attempting to charge it like you should, with a DC power supply (not AC).

What is transformers necessity?

Outside the homes, electricity is transferred at several thousand volts, for reasons of efficiency (less energy is wasted that way). This voltage is far too high for home use. (Also, home devices are set up for a specific voltage.)

When using Ohms law to determine voltage what formula would be used?

........V

I = ------

........R

I = Ohm's Law

V = Voltage

R = Resistance

(Ignore the dots they stop V and R from moving to the left!)

Can you use a dc generator as a dc motor?

Yes you can turn a motor into a generator, if it is a permanent magnet motor.

How do you convert 277 volts to kW?

You don't. Volts and Watts are two different units. That's like asking me to convert distance and speed. Multiply your 277 volts by an amperage value and that will equal watts. Any product over 999 watts will be in kWs. 1000 watts = 1 kW, just move the decimal place 3 places to the left for kilowatts

What is 230 volt 3 phase?

for USA, Canada and other countries running a 60 Hz supply service.

230 volt single phase refers to the two hot wires in standard house wiring but with the absence of the common return line, aka as the neutral wire.

As using only the "hot" side of phase one (120 volt) and only the "hot" side of phase two (120 volt), so that these two lines yield 240 volts in phase with each other, it is called "single phase".

This is sometime called 230 volts, "double phase" due to the two hot wires. Since both wires have the same phase, the term "double phase" is incorrect. As the two hots are balanced around the neutral point, "Split single phase" is the correct term to use.

Typical usage examples for 240 volts split single phase include: water heaters, electric clothes dryers, water pumps for wells, central and some larger window air conditioning units, air handlers, electric heating units, floor sanders, and portable arc welders.

For Europe

230 V is the standard nominal voltage for single-phase electrical services to residences in Europe. It is obtained from a wye-connected, three-phase, four-wire, 400/230-V transformer secondary, by connecting between any line conductor and the neutral conductor.

Why is electrical engineering important for society?

Electric circuits are used in almost everything many humans use on a daily basis. Whenever you flip on a light or listen to music, for example, electric circuits are at work.

Is a miliohm 1000 ohms?

No, a miliohm is 0.001 ohms. A kiloohm is 1000 ohms.

How many types of 3-phase induction motors are there?

One way is to add a capacitor and some extra field windings.

Starters are needed because the starting current in an motor may go as high as 6-7 times its rated current.

Some of the methods used for starting motors are,

Direct online starters, Auto transformers, Soft Starters, Variable Speed Drives, Intelligent Motor Controls.

What should be the insulation resistance in a electrical circuit?

As we know thath insulators are the materials which are mainly use to insulate any conducting body from the LIVE supply whether 3Ph or single phase, so the reristence of such an insulator should be infinity as it should be provide maximum resistance to the flow of current through it.

What resistance does a light bulb have?

250 V, 200 watts means that the current is (200W/250V) =0.8 amps (let us use DC now so that we don't have to deal with power factors and RMS / Peak voltages etc.). So, the resistance will be 250 / 0.8 = 312.5 ohms.

What is the voltage when current is 0.2 amperes?

What some people write as 0.2 Amps is the same as 200 milliAmps or 2x1/10Amp.

What is the role of an electrical engineer in the industries and power sector?

The main role of electrical engineers in construction projects is to supervise the electricians in handling all the electrical works considering the safety and quality requirements. The electrical engineer in the construction site also reads and studies the electrical plans (usually done by electrical design engineers) and implement it in the site and sometimes do necessary actions whether to correct or to improve the design. They coordinate with other electrical engineers in the implementation of the electrical system design and also with other engineers of different fields, such as civil and mechanical engineers, to make the construction job easier.

What is motor rated torque?

It is the twisting force that a motor can produce when it is running.

What is the RPM for ac generator to get 240 volt?

'Speed' is only one of the factors that determine the output voltage of an a.c. generator, so your question cannot be answered. In practise, speed is more important establishing frequency rather than voltage.

How many amperes is a 150HP motor?

a 3 phase 415 volts 50 HZ 15 HP motor draws:

1. On no load 3.6 amp after a starting kick of around 18AMP

2. On a full load : a starting kick of 108 amp for few seconds and then18.3 amp.

3. On rated load(this means the motor is selected such that the load is 80% of the motor capacity) 14.64 amp with a starting kick of 88Amp.

Why is electric fan related to physics?

An electric fan is an electric motor with some fan blades attached to its rotating shaft. As the motor spins, the fan blades rotate. Each blade is angled a bit, and as the inclined plane of the blade moves through the air, it forces the air ahead of it forward. Each blade does this on a continuous basis, and the result is a moving air stream. The fan is taking air from the area behind itself and blowing it out the front. The fan generates a movement of air, causing the warm, less dense air to rise, and the cool, dense air to descend, thus creating a feeling of coolness in the air.

How much power will be dissipated by resistor R4?

Facts missing. Need two of three values. The resistors value. The voltage across it. The current flowing through it. P=I^2*R. P=E^2/R

Can a single phase generator run a 3 phase air conditioner?

Depending on who does the work it could be less expensive than getting a different air conditioner. The compressor will also need a capacitor and some rewiring. The old unit could have a 3 phase blower motor also which could run the price up even more. Although the changes can be made, the warranty at best will probably be a one year warranty and a new unit could have a 5-10 year warranty.

What would happen to the current flow in a dc circuit when the capacitor is fully charged?

A capacitor charge as a time constant of R resistance C capacitance in ufd and it is defined as 63% for one time constant for the constant voltage source. Electronic engineers assume that a capacitor is fully charged by a 5 times constant. however mathematically speaking it will never be fully charged for obvious reasons. Therefore the answer is current will never stop/

What is the principle of electric tube light?

The way an electric tube, or fluorescent, light works is really very interesting. Most "regular" light bulbs are incandescent. Their source of light is the glow of electricity passing through a very thin wire known as a filament that is suspended in a vacuum. It glows with a "warm" color in the yellow/orange range. With a fluorescent tube there are two filaments, but they do not directly provide the light source, and a mercury vapor instead of a vacuum.

On each end of a long glass tube are coils using electricity regulated by a ballast. The tube is filled with mercury vapor and phosphor. The electricity passing through the filaments excites the mercury vapor causing it to glow with ultraviolet (black) light. Ultraviolet light is not visible, but it does cause cause certain chemicals and colors to glow or fluoresce. If you take laundry detergent with phosphorous in it, for example, and place it under an ultraviolet (black) light, the phosphorus glows cold white. So by adding Phosphorus to the tube of Mercury vapor it will also glow when the vapor is excited electrically.

The result is a lot of light for a much lower amount of electricity, and excess heat. The color temperature is very close to that of daylight but a little cooler, in the blue/green range. That makes growing plants under fluorescent light more effective also. The negatives are that most "tube lights" can not be dimmed with a wall dimmer-switch, and the ballasts, that controls electrical flow, do have a tendency to burn out or fail after a time.
