No, Sadly there aren't any cheat codes for this game. However, there are glitches within the game that can help you out. You can go to any game cheat code site and read about the glitches.

'The Institute' is Fallout 3's name for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which presumably survived the war and remains a technology research and development hub. Since it's in Massachusetts, it is too far north to appear in the Capital Wasteland, it is not an area you can visit.

the alien firelance is obtainable through a random occurence (a random occurence occurs when in proximity of a scripted randomiser in the game code that decides what event will fill that space (this includes the drunken trader, a salesman selling quantum, regulators, mines, medic, people fighting over drinks, etc), one of these is an exploding capsule containing the firelance and alien ammo

Since I am not sure on what you want to know about this weapon I will try to cover all the angles.

Lincolns Repeater is without much of a doubt one of the best weapons in Fallout 3 (in my personal opinion anyways). The weapon does a damage of 50 at range and has a bullet spread of 0, this means that the shot will allways go where you aim it (this is dependant on your small weapons skill though).

The Rifle uses .44 magnum rounds and can hold 15 at one time, although this ammo isn't exactly rare it is still fairly difficult to keep up a good stock from looting alone, you are going to have to buy up if you plan to use it regularly. The rifle is repaired using regular hunting rifles so atleast on that side of things its very cheap to keep in good condition.

The weapon is found in perfect condition inside a display case on the top floor of the museum of American history offices.

Thier are simply to many to count but i will give you a couple any ways. One place is in Sergrave Holmes home in rivert city. Another is in the Jefferson memorial on top of the thing you would place the virus into. The last is in an area in Jefferson memorial that you find whil exploring.

Cherry Bombs arn't really bombs so you dont use them.

The Enclave weren't just randomely killing off the Vault Dwellers, they had a reason.

The Enclave started scouting all over California with their vertibirds and establishing a base at Navarro after the Vault Dweller defeated The Master in 2162. Then when they saw all of the remnants of The Master's army and the ghouls, they decided the "mutants" would have to go, including all of the humans who had been exposed to background radiation after the war if they ever hoped to inhabit the mainland again. They found the Mariposa Military Base, and excavated it, and got samples of the FEV virus, which they could turn into a lethal toxing that could kill anybody who wasn't first inoculated against its effects.

The Enclave needed two test groups: one of clean, pure humans and another composed of the "mutants" that lived all over the mainland, suffering radiation and FEV exposure for decades that, to the Enclave, made them unclean. The unclean sample was easily obtained by kidnapping the entire population of Arroyo.

The clean group would be more difficult to obtain though. The Enclave wouldn't allow the Chemical Corps to use people living on the oil rig so they had to look elsewhere. Thus, they traveled in force to Vault 13 and sent a command to the Vault's computers to open the Vault door. After taking care of some mild resistance (after shooting three unarmed vault dwellers who came to greet them), the Enclave troops rounded up the residents of Vault 13 and shipped them off to the oil rig in Vertibirds to take part in the Chemical Corps' FEV experiments.

And that is why The Enclave went to Vault 13 in the first place, and killed whoever they felt were "resisting".

A lot of scrap metal can be found at the Scrapyard, just buy it off the old lady there, she usually has 6-10 pieces on her every 72 hours.

The chief guard in Rivet City, (known as Harkness) can be found usually in the Rivet City Market area of the ship. If you have not entered Rivet City yet you can go to the intercom near the edge and talk to Harkness and he will connect the bridge for you.

It is a secret encounter, meaning it appears randomly depending on your luck and Outdoorsman skill.

You should receive a radio message informing you that the quest is active, all you have to do now is get on the ferry to Point Lookout. You can find the boat south of the Citadel, at the very bottom of the map.

I personally like Fallout New Vegas equipment better such as the companion wheel and weapons modifications, but Fallout New Vegas has too big of a map and takes ages to find all the places as well as having way too many missions as you can have as many as nearly 8 missions whcih you haven't completed waiting for you in your Pip-Boy 3000. Also Fallout New Vegas has too many missions where you are just going back and forth from one place to another as well as a much longer wait time to open doors. Also you don't get as much of a feeling of the nuclear apocalpse thme as you do in Fallout 3 and the story line can be very boring at times such as 2 armies fighting over Hoover Dam and that's just the main point of the game. Finally Fallout 3 can be much more challenging at times whcih i prefer and has more automatic weapons such as assualt rifles whcih you have to pasy for in Fallout New Vegas. Also it has more side objectives like finding bobbleheads whcih can be a trouble to find.In conclusion i like Fallout 3 better.
