The Communist Party of Cuba is the ruling party in the Republic of Cuba. In Cuba, people elect members of the National Assembly of People's Power which then chooses a President who exercises executive power. Every member of the National Assembly is a member of the CPC.

Since 1992 the Cuban government has allowed other parties to exist, but it does not allow them, or the ruling Communist party, to campaign.

No, just the opposite. The US tried to prevent Castro from defeating Batista, because Batista was friendly toward the US and Castro was a Communist. The US never wanted Castro to take over and this can be seen by the later "Bay of Pigs" invasion that the US sponsored but failed to back up. There are accounts that the US through the CIA planned some elaborate schemes to kill Castro after he took over.

Castro did not attend Harvard. Castro did have the knowledge to go to such a university as he has a law degree from the University of Havana and practiced law prior to the Cuban Revolution. He was a respected lawyer who became disenchanted with politics in Cuba thus becoming a revolutionary. Castro was not anti-US from the start and did not join the Communist Party until 1962, three years after his taking control of Cuba.

Cuba, although changing slightly in more recent times, remains a Communist dicatatorship. The highest levels of the leadership decide what laws they wish enacted and enforced and do so without any input of its governed citizens.

According to the few things given in his spoken autobiography, My Life (written by Ignacio Ramonet), Fidel Castro's personal interests include international history and reading (all genres). He is apparently very intrigued by such historic people as Napoleon Bonaparte, Hannibal, and even George Washington, to name a few. As far as reading goes, he reads an awful lot. Fiction, non-fiction, political essays... the list goes on. While he tends to favor French and Spanish authors, he reads many of the classics regardless of the author's nationality.

Yes, In 1980 he opened the gates in cuba so that 125 thousand Cubans who wanted to leave could do so. But he also brought along prisoners from his jails which was about 25 thousand of them.

He sold American land, offered an inadequate compensation to the United State Government, and among other things, abuse of human rights have been observed.

Castro has been the leader of Cuba for many years. He recently stepped down as supreme ruler.

He lives on a big property in western Havana called Punto Cero, there are a number of houses on this property where it is believed other members of his extended family also live. It is just south of an outer suburb of Havana called Alameda de Siboney. While it's in no way as glamorous/ostentious as the ex residences of Muammar Gaddfai & Saddam Hussein, it's much more luxurious than the homes of the majority of Cubans. Apart from the massive property itself, the only sign of luxury visible on Google Maps is a swimming pool. It is rumoured that he also has a running track.

Look up "5ta D, Havana Cuba" in Google Maps (5ta D is the name of the road), you will see a string of about 4 or 5 houses on this road (at the end of roads 7ma A & 7ma B. The house with the swimming pool is Fidel's - the rest are his family members'.

Don't go looking for it though when you're in Havana or you'll find yourself in a lot of trouble :) Security around there is understandably quite heavy anyway

Will Castro is a Puerto Rican actor and producer who was born on April 4, 1969. He married Honey Girl and there is no evidence to suggest that the pair got a divorce as of May 2014.
