Please clarify. I'm not aware of there being a password in the game at all. The game does have a system where you can select words to ask more about though. So, maybe there is a section where you might need to talk to a different NPC before continuing on the storyline as certain NPCs have "catch phrases" and "key words" that are important to continue the story.

The crystals found during the normal story mode unlocks jobs. From there go the the job menu from the overall menu page and select the person to change. From there select the desired jobs. Most jobs under job lvl 90 take from 2-6 battles for the characters to get accustomed to.
Can you unlock Sephiroth in Final Fantasy VII?
No cheat has been developed to play Sephiroth or a method to unlock him, hence, it is plainly impossible to control him in FFVII.
Sephiroth is only officially available to you during the flashback in disc 1. However, in the PC version (as well as the Ultima Ed.) it is possible to include him in your party at the expense of other members through a third-party hacking program. He acts the same as during the flashback (AI controlled), and has no Limit break, options show that he has Vincent's starter weapon and armor.
However, since Sephiroth is never in your party (flashback or otherwise) after disc 1, you cannot put him there even using the program.
The program (I think) was called Jenova, but I don't recommend you do this, since storyline events crash the game.

But, with the use of a game shark you can replace a character with Sephiroth, or add him to the available characters in the PHS, but to be able to use the one winged angel you must use another code all together, this code allows you to use Sephiroth as you would any other character i no longer have these codes but they can be found on the internet. This will make your game very unstable. During the battle, as Cid appears on the turn list and acts as a support in play by controlling the Fahrenheit, Tidus and Rikku have access to a Trigger Command which will cause Cid to move the ship on his next turn. While close, Evrae has access to the powerful melee attack "Petrifying Stare," which deals light damage and petrification and, after "breathing in," can perform the powerful "Poison Breath" attack, which damages the whole party and inflicts poison.
While the Fahrenheit is far away, only Magic, Wakka and the Mix overdrive can hit Evrae, but the "Poison Breath" will miss and Evrae will only use the weak "Photon Spray" attack; furthermore, on his turn, Cid will use the ship's mighty "Guided Missiles" to deal massive damage (although this can only be performed three times over the course of the battle).
