This depends which specific marble you are comparing vs. which granite. Some granites are less expensive than some marbles and some are more.

In terms of durability, usually granite is harder/will last longer. Marble is more fragile and has fault lines and hence it is more likely to crack over time. This is especially true if you get a cheap marble or buy it at a big box store (they tend to add a lot of epoxy/filler and you can't see this unless you open the boxes and turn over the tile.

I'm guessing that you mean penny round tile. If so, no should never lay this over a laminate floor. Laminate floors are floating, so they move and your tile/grout will crack. You are also not supposed tile on top of any form of wood (laminate is recycled hardwood), because it expands and contracts so it will also cause the tile and grout to crack. You should remove the laminate. And then install on top of either smooth concrete, level it or add in cement board.

If, however, you actually mean vinyl, then it depends the condition of the vinyl. It's usually better to remove it, but you might be able to get instead pour 1/2 self leveling cement or put cement board on top and then install. Your floor should be smooth and level before installing the tile.

Yes, you should be able to. Most cork flooring tiles are floating - they click together. So, they can go on top of virtually any surface provided that it is level/flat and there are no issues of moisture.

If your hardwood floor is not shining, it might need some polish. Or, it might just be old. I suggest investing in a new hardwood floor if yours is so ancient that it has lost its ability to be lucent.

Or you can have your floors refinished. If they have been sanded recently, you might have a satin sheen in the polyurethane that was applied. If this is the case, all you have to do is re coat it with a semi gloss or gloss polyurethane.

Actually, the trick is to remove the tile without gouging the hardwood floor beneath. Some surface scratching is inevitable while removing the tile but you want to keep it to a minimum. The sanding process when refinishing will eliminate any blemishes that are not to deep.

It depends on where the flooring would be, but I would say that rubber flooring is the best. For indoors or outdoors, it's amazingly safe and lasts much longer. I'm very happy with the rubber flooring in our backyard and the local private school has it in their gym and I hear they love it too.

If you're having a professional contractor install your floor they normally include that in the price with a line item, unless you're installing a specific type of finish or grout. If its highly unique then they normally give you a price with normal stuff and a price for the work for the specifics that you want. Calculating the price is pretty easy depending upon gap and, type of tile, and grout you plan on using.
