Can you use Vinegar to etch internal concrete floor?

I would also like to know the answer. I think it will, because it does attack the calcium, really cleans the surface. I've done a garage floor and it seems to have the same effect as the commercial acids, and appears to do the same thing (I've used both). However I"ll like to see further replies, from persons that have done the same.

Could tile be installed over gypsum board?

That depends upon location. Tiles can be installed on a gypsum board wall or ceiling. (But make sure that the tiles are well grouted; if moisure gets past the tile into the gypsum board, it will be damaged.) Floors require greater strength - but then, you wouldn't normally have a gypsum board floor, with or without tile.

Can you lay ceramic tiles over wooden floor?

Most ceramic tiles are laid over a wooden subfloor, except for those on the ground floor of a house with a slab foundation.

I will add to the answer above by saying that you will need to use a polymer-modified thinset morter when installing ceramic tiles over wood. Most tile-setting morters available today are "modified", but check to be sure, because regular morters are designed to be used over concrete and will not adhere properly to wood.

Also, if the floor area is large and there is more than a tiny bit of flex in the floor, you might end up with cracked tiles, especially if you or your family or guests are heavy. To avoid this, it might be necessary to build up the thickness of the floor by adding another layer of 3/4" plywood, or by using the older method of wire mesh and concrete over the existing wood (in which case you would not need a modified morter).

What is floor consideration?

Floor consideration is a measure by the full House can be a simple operation. This measure is ready for consideration by the full House after it has been reported by a committee. The consideration of a measure may be governed by a rule. A rule is a simple decision, which must be passed by the House, which sets out the particulars of debate for a specific bill how much time will allow for debate, whether amendments can be offered, and other matters. After a measure passes in the House, it goes to the Senate for consideration. A bill must pass both bodies in the same form before it can be presented to the President for signature into law. If the Senate changes the language of the measure, it must return to the House for additional changes.

Is bamboo flooring waterproof?

yes, bamboos produce much water. the rain will go to straight the soil the soil divides it when the soil divides it it will go straight to the roots of the plant the bamboo stores less than a gallon of water and water produces more leaves in the outer parts but it is not much for the next rain so bamboos doesn't produce much water but the more it grows the more water it collects

Should you install Parquet flooring over a rubber floor?

You could but would you want to? There are some things to consider in this situation. First, the condition of the parquet. Are there loose spots? Will adding hardwood over it present height issues in doorways or adjoining flooring (i.e. tile, carpet, vinyl, etc). Will the baseboard now look to low?

But by removing the parquet your given an opportunity to address the above conditions as well as things like: (1) tightening loose subfloor boards with screws or nailing and (2) replacing damaged subfloor wood if any.

Most likely the parquet is installed on an underlayment. If the parquet is glued to it you also remove the underlayment or you'll have to address the glue that is still stuck to it.

Removing the parquet will entail more work but believe me you'll end up with a better job and a tighter nicer installation.

Now..........if this parquet is somehow glue to concret that's another matter. Also I'd ask the company your considering buying your flooring from the same question you've posted here. Hope this helps.

John Yes you can but you have to be aware that it will raise your floor level and you'll have to trim doors and door frames.

Terracotta tiles have warm, earthy tones, while quarry tiles are unglazed and durable. Mosaic tiles are small and used for creating decorative patterns or designs. Is labor cheaper for tile or hardwood?

This depends on many factors including what area of the county you are in and what type of subfloor you have (e.g. concrete vs. plywood). It can also depend on type of tile (e.g. natural stone is more expensive than ceramic/porcelain) and what type of hardwood/type of installation (e.g. solid vs. engineered, glue down vs. float vs. nail down) as well as width of wood. This also depends on how level your floor is/what floor prep is needed.

In the NY area/mid Atlantic, it is usually less expensive to install hardwood rather than tile, esp if you have a plywood subfloor. In the South and Southwest, though, it's usually the opposite - labor is often less for tile and the homes are built on concrete slab.

It's best to get estimates from actual contractors in your area and have someone look at the current condition of your floor/subfloor to give you an accurate answer to this question.

Can you use a steam cleaner on carpets laid over hardwood floor?

Yes you can as long as you are not concerned about damaging the underlying floor. If the floor is old and the finish in unimportant to you, you are fine. If you are looking at steam cleaning an area rug which is on a hardwood floor, that's a definite no-no and the as the water and steam can stain or buckle the hardwood.

Why do houses have cement floors?

Cement is a durable material for most anything if it is formulated and finished right. Cement kitchen counters are popular right now. Could you put polyurethane on vinyl tile floor to seal it and make more waterproof?

Yes you can, however, ensure that this is the best option before executing. I do this to reinforce the self-stick vinyl tile and laminate flooring in my basement and it works great. I got tired of dropping a knife or something creating a huge gash requiring replacement. The polyurethane layer has protected my floors for years. Occasional reapplication of polyurethane in spots where needed making it look new brand new again versus cutting out and re-sticking a piece of the laminate floor that will never look as good as new...I use the former. There are a lot of nay-sayers out there about polyurethane on vinyl tiles and laminate floors, but I've always had great success.

How do you cut vinyl floor tiles?

Generally you only need a utility knife. They also sell a vinyl tile cutter, but they can be expensive.
