Fuels cells are essentially not very dangerous. But in order for a fuel cell to work hydrogen must be used. Hydrogen is usually fed to a fuel cell from a resevoir. Hydrogen is very flammable and if the concentration in an area of hydrogen is too great any spark of any kind even friction can make it combust.

Not all fuel cells run on hydrogen. There are natural gas and methanol cells.

Fuel cells are dangerous to your life if you are making one in your basement workshop and don't tell your significant other what you're doing and what it costs first. This is because the membrane in a fuel cell, a DuPont film called Nafion, costs $175 per square foot and it looks like that plastic you make document protectors from. "YOU SPENT $200 ON THIS!?!?!?!?!"

A programmable logic controller (PLC) is basically a microprocessor (digital computer) that is used to control machines or electromechanical devices, or to automate industrial or manufacturing processes.

Batteries produce DC because the potential difference is determined by the chemical reaction inside the battery. This voltage is constant.

You would need to have a 12 v ac supply available to step it up to 230 v with a transformer. Please explain what kind of power supply you are working with so that an answer can be provided.

The success of the hydrogen car is because the the hydrogen fuel cell. This cell converts hydrogen into electricity and powers the car and the only byproduct is heat and water.

The hydrogen fuel cell operates similar to a battery. It has two electrodes, an anode and a cathode, separated by a membrane. Oxygen passes over one electrode and hydrogen over the other.The hydrogen reacts to a catalyst on the electrode anode that converts the hydrogen gas into negatively charged electrons (e-) and positively charged ions.The electrons flow out of the cell to be used as electrical energy. The hydrogen ions move through the electrolyte membrane to the cathode electrode where they combine with oxygen and the electrons to produce water. Unlike batteries, fuel cells never run out. In principle, a fuel cell operates like a battery. Unlike a battery, a fuel cell does not run down or require recharging. It will produce energy in the form of electricity and heat as long as fuel is supplied.

Fuel cells operate by combining hydrogen and oxygen without actual combustion as in gasoline engines. A catalyst separates the electrons and protons to combine the elements. (Some versions of fuel cells are high-temperature only.)

Hydrogen gas

The advantages of using hydrogen fuel cells are that they are an alternative fuel to fossil fuels, like coal, oil and gas. Also, burning or reacting hydrogen with oxygen runs electric motors and it's only emission is water vapour.

The disadvantages of using hydrogen fuel cells is that hydrogen does not occur naturally on Earth and thus is not an energy source. It takes a great deal of energy to extract Hydrogen from water.

Benthic Microbial Fuel Cells are basically a microbial fuel cell. Instead of the anode being placed deep into sediment [MFC]- the anode is placed in a chamber where monitored amounts of neutrients/fresh water can enter and be controlled [BFMC]

Hydrogen has the highest calorific value, which should make it good fuel

Mitosis is essential for an organism's survival because it is the process by which cells divide and multiply to repair tissues, help with growth, and replace old or damaged cells. Without mitosis, organisms would not be able to generate new cells necessary for their survival and development.

Electrolytes in a fuel cell help facilitate the movement of ions between the electrodes, allowing the flow of electricity to be generated. They help maintain the charge balance within the cell by conducting ions, which are crucial for the cell's overall operation.

Fuel cells are considered a clean energy source because they generate electricity through an electrochemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen, producing only water and heat as byproducts. This process emits no harmful pollutants or greenhouse gases, making it environmentally friendly. Additionally, when hydrogen is sourced from renewable energy, the overall carbon footprint of fuel cells is significantly reduced, further enhancing their sustainability. As a result, fuel cells offer a promising alternative to traditional fossil fuels in achieving cleaner energy solutions.

Whether biofuels are better than hydrogen fuel cells depends on the context and specific use cases. Biofuels can be easier to integrate into existing infrastructure and can utilize current engine technologies, while hydrogen fuel cells offer higher efficiency and produce only water as a byproduct. However, biofuels can have environmental impacts related to land use and carbon emissions, whereas hydrogen production can be energy-intensive unless sourced from renewable methods. Ultimately, the choice between the two depends on factors like sustainability, economic viability, and application.

Cathode is positive and anode is negative for both.... we cant say both are not rechargeble ..... but using electricity we cant recharge dry batteries (some) and fuel cells...
