Is it okay for a golden retriever to have one pistachio?

Yes, but don't give your dog pistachios often. Dogs LOVE peanut butter and avocado :) not nuts

My dog will lay down seem to be relaxed but whimper and cry almost imperceptedly. I know he's eaten gone out and pooped and requires nothing. He is a Golden Retreiver and about 10-months old.?

You have pretty much answered this one! :-) I take it no one warned you? For about the first 2-3 years, a golden will want nothing more than to be the center of your world - just like a toddler. And then they will still want it but may not be as vocal about it. They are VERY people-oriented, and can become so attached to their owners it will drive you nuts. I will guess that he is in good health, eating well, and has good bladder and bowel habits. If all else is normal, then I believe he is simply trying to get your attention the only way he can... to ask for it... So take some time out from your busy schedule and go play!

Your 3 month old golden retriever is blood in solid stool?

Blood in the stool is NEVER normal. Check the stool for foreign objects that the Golden puppy may have eaten and that caused bleeding when the object was passed.

This does NOT have to be as gross as it sounds --- just scoop the stool into a clear plastic bag FIRST (like a Ziploc bag) --- then crush the stool gently while it's still in the clear bag and you will find any foreign object the puppy may have eaten. Unfortunately, Golden puppies are well-known for happily gulping down just about anything they can fit down their throats!

If the bleeding problem continues, PLEASE bring the puppy to a vet as soon as possible.

What can you do for your golden retriever who is constipated?

Constipation can be very serious in dogs, so you should see your vet ASAP. Your vet may recommend changes to the dog's diet (different kibble, more fiber, more exercise, more water, etc.), and if the condition is severe he or she may recommend measures to correct the current constipation.

Talk to your vet today in any case, however.

What do you get when you cross a black lab with a golden retriever Are they going to be long haired or short?

The Golden Labrador is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Golden Retriever and the LabradorRetriever.

My Golden Retriever (female) had pups for my Black Lab (male) and all pups were solid black. They call the cross Golden Labs but mine are more like Black retrievers. They do have long hair. The actual length depends on if they're half lab half golden, or if it's quarter golden, then it wont be as fuzzy.

Can you give me advice and information on Golden retriever puppies as my dog is ready to have pedigree puppies thank you?

Who uses more lung capacity man or golden retriever?

If you mean level of gas exchange probably a dog though I'm not sure, bigger animals tend to have better percentages especially heavily active ones like dogs. In total capacity probably a human, body size obviously is a factor here.

How do you eliminate golden retriever's body odor?

My parents have a retriever that gets a strong "fishy" smell. It has something to do with her glands near her butt. They have to get squeezed by the vet -- the vet can teach you how, so you can do it at home. But it is very gross to smell and oozy. If you don't get her glands squeezed, then she can get infections.

Does chocolate hurt golden retrevers?

What two breeds make a golden comet?

all golden comets are sex link hybrids, not all sex link hybrids are golden comets. Golden comets are the result of breeding a white rock hen with a New Hampshire red. you could use a Rhode Island red. It really gets deep into genetics like, dominant silver factors and recessive factors. its confusing. but a white rock hen is the mama, some kinda red feller is the daddy. that's about it. The point is, their off spring are color sexable. meaning all the girls (layers) are going to stand out from the cockerels (boys) which are useless to an egg farmer.

How are golden retrevers different from labs and how are they similar?

they are different by their fur, golden retrievers have long while labs have short. and by what they were used for (their nature) labs were taken on fishing boats over freezing waters, so if a fish escaped, they could swim in after it, golden retrievers were not really used at all. and the amount of shedding golden's shed A LOT!

they are similar by their popularity in the U.S, they do both retrieve although the lab tends to do more, both are usually good with kids, and are taught easily.

(golden retrievers came from labs)

How do you control hair loss for golden retriever?

Try to brush it out as much as possible and give it baths...thats pretty much all you can do.

What might have caused your older Golden Retriever's testicles to become swollen scabbed with pus and raw in just a few days?

This sounds like a bacterial infection. You need to take your Dog to the Vet immediately. Don't try to treat this yourself. This will be very painful for your Dog. With a clean gauze, wet it with luke warm water and gently (very gently!) wipe your Dogs testicles. Do not rub but wipe to clean away some of the germ present there. You need to contact your Vet now about this. Bacterial infections can spread to any part of your Dog's body.
