A golf ball is usually white in colour and it has 300-450 dimples on it which make it aerodynamic and allow it to fly. It also the manufacturers logo on the front, with a number underneath it for identification purposes. On the size it also has the type of ball, this is often used to line the ball up with the hole, sometimes people draw a line over this for better allignment.

In Matchplay you are allowed to practice after a completed hole, only your short game, this includes pitching and putting, but bunker shots or shots from hazards are not allowed. You can practice like this as long as it does not cause an undue delay to play. You are not allowed to practice fuller swing shots.

Matchplay differs from strokeplay in one unique way. Before a matchplay round you are allowed to practice on the course, in strokeplay this is not allowed. So, before a matchplay you can play a couple of holes, or pitch and putt to any green, if you did so in strokeplay you would be disqualified.

well there are many different types of golf balls some are expensive and some of them are dirt cheap. the different brands of golf balls is hard to know because some are being used which you havent heard of. i say though on the PGA tour around about 10-15 different brands of balls are used. Examples, Nike, Callaway, Bridgestone, Srixon, Titliest, Top Flite not (flight) and many other brands of golf balls are being used which i probably don't know about.

His 2010 PGA Tour average is 300.1 Yards, but that only takes in a couple of holes per round. He has hit some drives that are easily 350 this year.

On the 2nd hole at US Open at Pebble Beach 2010 (6/20/10) Mickelson's drive was 395 yards.

Par 38 is the regulation amount of shots for most likely nine holes of golf. It comprises any combination par 3's, 4's and 5's which add up to 38. This could be 3 par 5's, 5 par 4's and a par 3. Or it could be 7 par 4's and 2 par 5's.

The basics are a polo shirt, without heavy branding and a pair of chinos. You can also wear a jumper which is usually lambswool. You may also need a hat to protect you from the sun. An Eagle in golf is lower than a birdie.

A birdie is 1 stoke below par on the hole and an Eagle is 2 strokes below par

on a par four, an eagle is two strokes

on a par three, an eagle is not used. it is just referred to as a hole in one!

Karsten Solheim is credited with inventing the putter in 1959. Solheim worked for the Ping golf company and aided in creating new products.

If the tip diameters are the same then yes. You will need to take it to your local golf shop and they can tell you. If so they will be able to put the new head on the existing shaft very easily.

Using strict PGA tour rules 25-30% can be under 100 on average. This is what I was told I . Just think how many times you technically touch the ball or take mulligans it adds up. Thanks Quimby
