Do expensive golf balls go farther than cheap ones?

The short answer is not really.

The "compression factor" (hardness/softness) of a ball helps determine how much surface area of the ball makes contact with the clubface at impact, and also how long the ball stays on the clubface before launching. The contact area is generally more important in the overall game; the more of the ball that "squishes" against the clubface, the more the clubhead can induce backspin. Backspin creates lift to keep the ball in the air, but decreases rolling distance. So, more backspin (and thus a softer ball) is usually good for iron shots, and a double-edged sword for drivers; the ball carries further, rolls less.

The amount of time the ball spends in contact with the clubface also helps determine backspin, but more importantly it determines the total impulse (force applied over time) applied to the ball. The speed and mass of the clubhead, thus its available energy, are constant; what changes is how long the ball is receiving energy from the clubhead. This used to be a big deal; you were supposed to match compression factor to your clubhead speed and driver clubhead mass, in order to get a combination that fully "loaded" the ball without overcompressing it (which would waste the energy, damage the ball, and could cause shots to "balloon" due to too much backspin). However, modern drivers incorporate head designs that flex on contact, and provide a similar "trampoline effect" that you used to want out of the ball itself. These new drivers make compression factor less important; with the same driver, a "high compression" and "low compression" ball may only produce 4-5 yards difference in distance given the exact same swing.

Temperature can also be a factor; as the temperature drops, a ball with a low compression factor behaves like a ball with a higher compression factor does in warmer weather. So, you may use a softer ball in November than you would normally use in July to get the same basic behavior.

What loft for a lob wedge?

If you mean a lob wedge, which usually comes in 58-64 degrees you should get whichever one you feel most comfortable with. I would recommend a 60 degree as there is plenty of loft to get the ball in the air and stop quickly. With the introduction of v grooves the faces have become too slippery and 62 and 64 degree wedges have become obsolete.

What is adjustment for Yamaha gas golf cart valve?

Remove the valve cover, you will then see 2 rocker arms with a nut and a square shank. (older models have a 8mm nut newer ones a 10mm). you adjust one valve at a time, by turning the clutch until the valve you are NOT adjusting is at max lift. You loosen the nut on the valve you are adjusting. you now take your .010mm feeler gauge and insert it in between the rocker arm and the valve tip. spin the square head until there is a little drag when sliding the feeler gauge. next you put your wrench on the locking nut and hold the square head from turning (you can use pliers on the square head if you are careful) and tighten the locking nut. THIS STEP IS IMPORTANT!!!! AlWaYs check your work here, be sure the feeeler gauge is not too tight or too loose after your adjustment!! repeat this whole procedure on the other rocker arm. install valve cover and your done!!

Can you change steel shafts to graphite?

Answer

Yes, unless you're a pro. A hobbyist does not have the swing control necessary to adjust to the difference required for each shaft. The extra flex in a graphite shaft will require a different swing. Playing golf well requires good repetition of proper swings.

You want graphite in your woods and perhaps in your Hybrids. Graphite in irons can be spooky as in sometimes the ball will go long and sometimes short. It is more difficult to control the distance with graphite iron shafts. Steel is more predictable.
