Personally I have not heard of a 4.3 scale. That being said, It would place a 3.6 GPA at a B+ letter grade.

Typically, it is an A- (or A at some schools).

This would be 80% and would be a B, just below a B+

(Most schools consider 80% to be a B-.)

I'm not 100 percent sure but I don't think u have to there are people in my school who go to tech and they aren't smart at all

185 out 280 is 66%. The letter grade assigned to this score depends on the teacher and the school. It would be a F if 70 is passing. It would be at least a C- in my college classes. On a graduate math test,with original problems on it, it might be an A.

Well usually typical honor classes do not affect your GPA. However, AP/IB classes usually give you an extra point if you pass. i.e. if you get an A in AP US History, you will receive a 5.0 for that class compared to a 4.0 for a regular class.

That depends on whether your honors classes were regular high school classes or AP or International Baccalaureate classes, which may have been calculated on a 5.0 GPA scale.

Honestly, it varies. For college, they want to see improvement over the 4 years of high school. But generally over a 3.0 is excellent. (don't worry if yours is under, you have 3 more years!)

Freshmen year is often the hardest year of High school for many students. It's the transition from middle school to high school. Students are most likely to get F's their Freshmen year. So, a "good" GPA would ideally be honor roll, over a 3.5. However, as long as you try your best, and are improving in your study habits and grades, your GPA is only one factor on a college application. Colleges also understand Freshmen year is rarely any ones best.

I recently scored a 79 percent and it showed up as a see so you are correct in assuming it is a C

If you have a 2.76 GPA (grade point average), you probably have mostly Cs and low Bs in your classes. It's a good idea to try to bring it up to at least 3.0, which could be achieved with mostly Bs.
