Great White Sharks

The average great white shark grows an average of 15 feet in length and can weigh up to 5,000 pounds. Some species can grow as long as 26 feet in length, but that is rare.

Great white sharks are considered, by many ichthyiologists and paleontologist alike, to be more closely related to the mako shark than to the megalodon, as megalodon is often considered to be of the genus carcharocles as opposed to carcharodon, the genus of both the mako and the great white. They were originally considered to be members of the same genus secondary to similarities in their teeth, and both were thought to share a common ancestor, genus palaeocarcharodon. Many scientists now believe that the evolutionary paths of the two species were in fact divergent, the megalodon evolving from the Otodus obliquus, and the great white from the Isurus hastalis, or broad tooth mako.

In addition, megalodon was thought to grow anywhere from 43 ft. to 75 ft. long, and weigh approximately 47 metric tons to 70 metric tons. Comparatively, the typical great white shark is approximately 13-20 ft long with a weight range, note the use of kg as opposed to tons here, of 680-1900 kg. There have been reports of individual sharks, mainly unconfirmed, being up to 37 ft long. Most of these seem to have been reported earlier in the 20th century, and in some cases, estimates done from measurements based upon surviving photographs of these leviathans have shown that they were often much smaller than reported.

The most notable difference between the two species is, of course, the fact that the Great White has survived, and megalodon lost it's battle against extinction 1.5 million years ago during the pleistocene epoch. well kinda it will try to eat you well im pretty sure it would eat you but it will eat you 1 if your bleeding it will charge at you 2 if it sees you it will go at you and 3 if it smells you then it goes at you so if i were you i wouldn't want to go in sea water definatly in salt water

Frighten sharks, interest sharks, don't matter to sharks, distract sharks. Depends on the shark, the area of interaction, regularity or frequency of interaction in that area and the intended activity of the shark.

Anything that digests flesh can. Other animals can eat them raw, we gotta cook em.. But I wouldn't advise eating the tiger's skin.. You can make coats with this though..

yes. Great white sharks are very effective hunters but humans are not generally on the menu. If a person is bitten or attacked, it is usually of mistaken identity. Great white sharks feed on seals mainly. It is possible for a shark to mistake a surfer for a seal. In most cases the shark bites, then releases when it realizes that it doesnt recognize the taste. Most human deaths linked to the great white, are because they are attacked head on. The Shark will not just slow down, because it is uncertain. For them if u make a mistake, make it going full speed.

At the bottom of the ocean there is a type of shrimp that can starve for years then once a whale or a shark dies it slowly makes its way to the deep sea bed, and once that journey is complete the shrimp engorge on the carcus and left-over skin. Hope that answers your question! :)

the reason that the sharks skin feels like sandpaper is because there skin is made up of little teeth like objects.

Aside from humans, the Great White Shark has been recorded several times falling prey to the Orca Killer Whale. Orca attacks are rare, and the Great White has no effective defense against the much more intelligent Orca.

Female sharks once fertilized can either lay their eggs like a reptile, the eggs can hatch inside the mother and the babies are birthed, or they develop like a mammal embryo in the mothers womb then are birthed.
