Of course, it is halal. Pectin is a substance extracted from plants and fruits. So I don't see any reason why it would not be halal.

Allah had said that pork, blood, wine, hard liquors, and meat that is not sacrificed in the name of Allah is haram.

But we Muslims tend to make every other food haram.

First of all, she doesn't have her facts straight. Pectin isn't haram. Also, jelly don't have pectin usually. Jello has pectin. And jello and jelly are two different things.

Most of the other chocolate bars are ok to eat as 'they contain whey powder from suppliers who use rennet approved by the UK Vegetarian Society' and are manufactured in the UK. (Although its best to get them to send you a comprehensive list.)

Also, the gelatine they use is derived from PORK, so that's a definite no no.

Ring their customer services dept on 0800 9521234 and ask them to send you a vegetarian product list for more details.

well mars and snickers,both say in the ingredients that it consists of soya lethium(e471) which is deprived from plant but if it does not say this it may mean that it is from animal which would be pig so it is haram.However always check for the vegetarian sign and if not contact the company.
