Can someone explan the ending of Halloween 4?
Michael slashes his way through Haddonfield till the end of the film where it is only Jamie (Michael's niece, and the daughter of Lorie Strode), her foster sister Rachel, and Michael in a final showdown.
Rachel is able to run over Michael, and uses the truck that she is in to knock him down into a ditch. Jamie then makes her way down and kneels beside his presumably dead body and holds his hand…the police arrive just in time as Michael springs to life and attempts to kill Jamie, which the police then liberally open fire and he falls down a mine shaft…Jamie witnessing all of this in addition to all of the horrors that she had witnessed throughout the night, is then taken home by Rachel. When they get there Mrs. Carruthers takes Jamie upstairs to run a bath for her to wash all the blood and dirt off of her. While this is being done the camera switches to another room down the hall from the bathroom and a POV shot through Jamie's eyes (a nod to the original movie's opening) where Jamie is still in the clown costume that she was wearing for Halloween…she then slides her clown mask over her eyes and picks up a pair of scissors and makes her way down to the bathroom.
She goes into the bathroom and then starts to plunge the scissors into Mrs. Carruthers without a word said. The scene then cuts to Loomis, Rachel, and the Sherriff running to the stairwell due to the screams where they stop dead in their tracks to see Jamie atop the flight glaring at them behind her bloodied clown mask and blood spattered costume holding the scissors like a butcher knife and breathing heavily. It then fades to black with screams and the certainty that there will be a 5th film.
