I am buying a hamster and the totaled expenses[even with discounts and such] has summed up to be 126.08$. This is only in Florida though because the tax rate is different and i have included it in the total.

Hamsters sell for $4-$11. If it is higher, you are getting ripped off, but this is only for HAMSTERS. For dwarf hamsters are gerbils or mice it ranges from $6-$40.

Get a large cage for hamster and make sure the wheel inside is large for hamsters other wise it might damage the hamsters back. Wheels should be full plastic because sometimes hamsters can slip through the wire wheels and get caught.

For dwarf hamsters, I don't suggest getting tubes that go straight upwards because the dwarf will not be able to climb the tube because it{hamster] is so small.

For mice and gerbils, you must not place them in direct sunlight, and try not to get cages with wires because they can escape the standard wire cages easily.

They probably could if they wanted but I'm pretty sure that their not supposed to. They can eat plain biscuits though used to give my hamster them but they cant eat them too much one or two a week is reasonable.

I gave them time and proved them wrong. Also one of the things they had a problem with was me not having enough room so simply did the measurement and told them there was. Prove to them how responsible you are/can be. Research hamsters and get a lot of pros and cons about them. Let your parents know that you can handle all the "cons" that hamsters have. Whatever you do don't fight with them and don't beg,both of these will lower your chances!! Hamsters normally sleep during the day but they may come out to drink or eat .

Its not good to wake them up ! They are nocturnal animals So they make a lot of noise during the night and run around the cage . They dont wake up at a particular time !

The only noise I can remember hearing from a hamster is the spinning of the wheel. Although it may not be uncommon to hear a slight squealing occasionally.

A Short haired hamster has a memory span of a few days to a few weeks. They may remember familiar scents, sounds, and routes within their habitat, but they do not have long-term memory like humans. It is important to provide a consistent environment and routine to help them feel safe and secure.

Hamsters don't really eat other hamsters. Their not cannibals. However, when the babies are first born and one is really ill; the mother may and most likely will eat the baby. Yes, it sounds gross but I think I remember reading somewhere that a lot of animals do that. So if you have a hamster who just had 5 babies and one of them is gone - that's probably why.

It depends on which hamster you have. Most prefer a large cage, with about 3 floors.

P.S. Try not to get one without plastic floors as bars can hurt their feet, and clean it out every 4 days.

Dwarf hamsters eat hamster food, like all hamsters, but there are some things they CAN'T eat.

Dwarf hamsters can't eat too many sunflower seeds because they will get diabetes. Also, they can't eat citrus fruits (lemon, orange, grapefruit) and tomatoes. Other veggies are okay.

Syria I would think, because most pet hamsters are Syrian Hamsters.
