The chemicals in the pool won't effect the lice. It will take a lot more than that. I recommend buying a shampoo specifically for getting lice out. If that doesn't work, you should talk to your doctor or something. The lice cling onto your hair shaft and don't let go even if your underwater. Actually, you shouldn't go swimming until the lice is away. You may give it to somebody else. I got a lot of this information from answers.yahoo.com.
Lice are passed by direct contact of one person with another--using the same comb, hat, etc. The best thing is to make sure you do not share a towel after swimming. Pool water makes no difference: the nits are glued into the hair, and only heat (like 150 degree hot water) can make a difference in that case. Pool chemicals are unlikely to make any difference at all.
you can buy special shampoo at the pharmacy in New Zealand but it takes quite a long time. I mean i got them when i was 3 and i still have them. the maximum time takes about ten years or more (but that's only if you hardly really do anything to them) but if not then about 5-6 years.
You have to take strands of hair & look at your scalp. Head lice attach themselves & lay their eggs just a little away from your actual scalp & stay on strands of hair. You can check for the eggs, which will be white if hatched, & brown/gray for those that didn't. If they move easily when you brush it with your finger, it is not head lice. If it is hard to move, & stays in place, it is likely to be nits (the eggs).
"you can get head lice by not washing your hair for a long time or going to a dirty place caz head lice are just little bugs that can fly in your hair mostly is found in dirty places. so watch out where u r going caz u never know if there Head lice in your hair or not BE CAREFUL"
is the biggest lie you will hear the truth is the prefer clean hair the natural oils in your scalp can actually make it harder from them to breath and to lay there eggs, they don't fly. to catch them you need to have direct head to head contact, use a infected person hat, brush, pillow, bed...etc they can only live on other surfaces for 48 hours with out a human to live on.
You can buy one most anywhere. Even Babies R Us! =) Just ask an employee at Walmart or something where their nit-combs are.
Yes you can. If you touch yourself after you hands have been in the hair or you make head to head or hair to item contact the risk of transmission is there. If you follow a sanitation protocol like the one that Lice Squad Canada uses you will not get lice nit picking. I know because I have been doing this for over 10 years and have never contracted head lice.
Sewer lice is A prank of what teachers made they put rasins in montoun dew and the carbonation of the soft drink makes the raisins move around and towards the end of class the teacher eats one is what my teacher mr.willis did and after that they tell u its a prank
They crawl from one persons head to the other from prolonged head to head contact, they can't jump or fly.
Not at all. Head lice are head lice and body lice are body lice. They are two separate parasites with identical images. Body lice tend to be found more on those who don't change clothing or don't shower. Head lice can be contracted from another person who has it. Head lice are more attracted to clean har so if you get them you are not dirty at all.
no! you should try and actually avoid excessive scratching because too much may cause a secondary skin infection or a rash.. the best thing to do is buy an anti itch remedy.. the dandruff ones are ok to use
No. The itching is the by product of the lice. You need to go to the drug store and by a shampoo just for killing lice. You will have to use it several times before you get them all.
The best you can do is when you shower make sure you scratch your scalp and put in the shampoo good. Or just maybe have someone to pick them out.
what do you mean if exposed?
But you check for headlice so you dont have them and you dont
give them to anyone else.If you have someone checking you for lice,
cause you cant do it on your own,and they find white and it is hard to move,
it is hatched lice eggs or 'nits'.If they are brown/grey,they are not hatched.
I don't think you should do that if you do your hair will start falling out.
