James Hetfield (born August 3, 1963 in Downey, california) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, rhythm guitarist, and co-founder of the American heavy metal band Metallica.

I'd say Dethklok, even though they are fictional, but they did get the highest US entry in the charts for a black metal band. I'd also be inclined to say Dimmu Borgir, but that's just cos they are my personal favourites... :-p

The album Genesis and songs from previous albums talk about Revelation, the last book in the Christian Bible. They don't talk about it from a stance that disrespects of doesn't agree with it. They simply narrate it.

As far as the members of the band having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, I don't know.

^^ If these bands are Satanist, then I would be afraid of the bands i currently listen to. These bands are probably more Christian than Satanist.

Neither of those are true Satanists. Check out the black metal scene, bands like Mayhem etc. Then Marilyn Manson is a Priest of the Church of Satan, although there aren't that many true Satanists outside of black metal.

It is VERY hard to list all the Satanic bands of the world. There are over 500 black metal bands, and a small portion are actually Satanist.

The reality of it is that most "Satanic" bands are the equivalent of what rappers refer to as "studio gangsters" - their lyrics may be laden with the lyrics, but the members of the bands don't actually hold such beliefs to be true.

This is often the case, even with Black Metal bands.

More then people listen to rap that is for sure.

i am very sad that only a few percentage of people (2% - 4%) listen to metal.

The lead guitarist was always thought to be Matt Tuck, Bullet For My Valentine's frontman.

The truth is Matt Tuck is on lead vocals and the rhythm guitar.

Michael Padget is Bullet For My Valentine's lead guitarist, but Matt Tuck still does an excellent job.

It depends on the song. If a song promotes hatred, violence, fornication, and anti-religious beliefs, then that song could be called "music of the devil." If it promotes respect, love, peace, faith, equality, and kindness, then it is not. Some people believe that it is otherwise, because it promotes freedom and non-conformist values. I think Metal music is by far more devilish than rock music.

The Bible does mention stringed instruments and cymbals praising the glory of the Lord. You could call that a whole lot of purposeful racket! It is true that a lot of "rock" music in the culture does not glorify God but there is still a lot of rock music which does glorify him.

Why does everyone just assume that rock is the devils music? Maybe some people sing about the devil or whatever but really I see no difference between rock or any other music. If rock influences people, that's their problem because rap does the same exact thing. All rap talks about now or days is drinking and smoking.

However, there also exists Satanist (meaning it worships Satan, the devil) rock, metal and/or screamo. However, it isn't healthy to generalize and say that all rock is so because it really isn't. On the contrary, most of the best rock is Christian.

This question can be a bit more ambiguous than you realise. Out of all the band which played Death Metal, Sepultura would be it. However, none of the albums they released during their Death Metal period would be particularly high grossing albums. Out of straightforward, true-to-form Death Metal bands, who haven't deviated away from it, Cannibal Corpse would be the band. As for the so-called Melodeath bands, they're irrelevant.

Although it's hard to pin point an EXACT year, many will say that Metal was born in 1968-1970, with the release of Led Zeppelin 1-3, Black Sabbath's self-titled and Paranoid album, Deep Purple's self titled and Deep Purple in Rock, Alice Cooper's Pretties for you and Easy Action, and Iron Butterfly's Heavy, Inna gadda da vida, Ball and Live albums. Not long after, Heavy Metal got it's name from the Steppenwolf song "Born to be wild" (Though few see them as a heavy metal band). Again, few can pin point the exact year when heavy metal was formed, or when it got the name "Heavy Metal", but this is the opinion I have, which many people generally agree with
