What did Henry viii do to monastries in England?
Back in the early 1500's, the Catholic Church was at her height in power. People donated tons of money to churches and MONASTERIES. Also, in 1534 (or around that date), Henry VIII broke away from the Church, making himself Head of the Church in England. Since most of the lower clergy and monks disagreed with this idea, Henry III plundered and closed many monasteries and churches. In fact, Elizabeth I plundered the monasteries to a greater extent than Henry III. I can't remember which one would send men to 'examine' monasteries and say that they are 'impure' and close them. And then, they would take the goods out of those monasteries.

In 1534 Henry VIII was declared head of the English Church. People had to swear an oath that in future they would obey Henry as head of the church. More refused and he was convicted of high treason. Still refusing to recant, he was executed at the Tower of London on 6 July 1535.
The Pope and the Catholic church in Rome were horrified when they heard the news that Henry had destroyed St. Thomas Becket's Shrine. On 17 December 1538, the Pope announced to the Christian world that Henry VIII had been excommunicated from the Catholic church.

Yes. King Henry VIII married Ann of Cleves January 6, 1540, but then divorced her on the 6th of July. He continued to give her money until she died.
For a description of Ann's English life go to http://www.luminarium.org/encyclopedia/anneofcleves.htm
The marriage between Henry VIII and Anne of Cleves was annulled on 9 July 1540, on the grounds of non-consummation and also that she had been promised in marriage previously to Francis of Lorraine.
Henry VIII was disappointed when he first saw Anne, complaining that he had been told she was fair when she was not. He called her the Flanders Mare, and refused to consummate the marriage. But at least Anne received a good settlement, which included Richmond Palace and Hever Castle (Anne Boleyn's old family home).
- Anne of Cleves 22.09.1515-28.07.1557, married 1540, divorced in July 1540. Her Holbein portrait painting that Henry had ordered and the advice of Lord Chancellor Thomas Cromwell made him decide to marry Anne. Upon her arrival in London he found her not attractive and soon after their marriage and a couple of sexual failures in bed he started the divorce procedure and ordered the execution of Thomas Cromwell. Anne feared to be killed by her brothers if sent back to Cleves and stayed in England for the rest of her life always being a well received "sisterly" guest at court.

What reasons are not for Henry to divorce Catherine?
One of the reasons that Henry shouldn't have divorced Catherine was that she was his legal wife, and that no annulment was sent by the Pope. Another reason would have been his fear of excommunication of the Roman Catholic Church.
Why did king Henry divorce execute his wives?
Anne Boleyn and Katherine Howard were executed for committing crimes agains the king. Anne was beheaded for High treason (betraying the trust of the king), Adultery and Incest - none of which were infact true. Katherine was executed for High treason and Adultery - no one is completley sure about the validity of the accusation of treason but the adultery was certainly true. It is famously known that whilst married to the king, Katherine became the mistress of Thomas Culpepper. She had also been betrothed to Francis Dereham and had not admitted this to the king, therefore their marriage had been null and void in the eyes of God from the start. This actually means that King Henry had no right to execute her on the grounds of adultery as they were never formally married and it was not a religiously bound marriage contract.
