As an immortal god, Hephaestus does not age. You could say thousands and thousands of years old, for sure, but any specific number would be meaningless, since he is immortal and also since we don't know the specific date of his creation.

For example, when Hera threw him from Olympus, he fell into the ocean, where 2 nereids raised him for nine years under the island of Lemnos. Hephaestus crafted a spectacular throne for Hera, which he had placed in Olympus for Hera to sit in. Hera loved the throne, but when she sat in it, the chair had a trap which imprisoned her. This shows that he held a grudge from when Hera threw him down from Olympus.

Hephaestus was lame, which was something the ancient Greeks considered grotesque. As to how he became lame, there is a difference of opinion. Some said he was born that way, and Hera threw him of Mt. Olympus in disgust. Other people said he was thrown out and became lame because of injuries he got in the fall.
