There are many variations on a pelham but the general use acts as a double bridle would. It can be used with double reins or rein converters can be used for a single rein effect. To some people a 'saddle cloth' is a saddle pad or saddle blanket. It is worn under the saddle on top of the horse's back.

This is what i do:

#1- I take a cloth, wet it and take off all the loose dirt on the saddle.

2- I take some Liquid Glycerine saddle soap (Leather new) and spray it on the saddle then scrub it into the saddle (Whatever you do, Don't let it run)

#3- Once your finishes that clean the cloth in warm water then squeeze the water out and effortlessly wipe the surface of the saddle.

#4- Use a different cloth and i either recommend Leather CPR Or Effax Leather balsam and scrub into the saddle.

#5- Check your saddle for Non treated scuffs and scratches, if there is 1 you didn't do it properly.

Personally, I'd start him/her out in a egg-butt snaffle. Then, if you need a stronger bit, transition to a full-cheek or D-ring. Only use a harsher bit if the pony isn't responsive/reactive.

You can jump in a saddle seat saddle the same way that you could jump in a western saddle or bareback. However, it will be difficult because the balance in a saddle seat saddle is different from that in a hunt seat saddle. With a saddle seat saddle, your weight is further back, and the stirrups are much longer. Also, saddle seat saddles lack knee rolls. If you are going over high jumps, it will be very hard to keep your balance in a saddle seat saddle.

An egg butt bit is a type of snaffle bit (a bit that has no leverage effects on the horse's head position). "egg butt" refers to the shape of the ring. This bit is very mild, with the same effect as a loose or "o" ring snaffle, except it is less ikely to pinch the horse's lips.

This depends on two things - the width of the horse's withers and the femur length of the rider.

The horse's withers determine the width of the saddle's tree. It is essential this fits well, as a bad fit may lead to sore, dry spots, and skin rashes, bucking, lameness, back pain and many other problems.


The length of the femur (thigh bone) of the rider also determines the LENGTH of the tree of the saddle (pommel - cantle length). If this is too short, a rider will be positioned too far back - too long and there will be too much seat for the rider to fill.


Saddle lengths between English and Western saddles can differ by 2 inches.


It is best to have a saddle fitter our to determine the size of saddle you will need, that or visit a saddle shop.

What you do is make the saddle face forward next to the horse then slip it over the side making sure the numnah is flat and the saddle is central the, saddles pommel is in line with the withers and then put the girth on the girth should tuck under the elbow nicely

They did. They went by the name Roman Cavalry saddle or Roman Military saddle. These saddles had 4 horns which helped to keep the rider secured during battle.

Normally when people want to move their horse from one place to another, they use a halter, which is basically loose fitting strips of nylon sewn together to fit over the horse's head. There is normally a spot on the halter to attach a lead rope, which is basically just a really long, braided nylon rope with a clip at the end. a lead rope is normally around 8 feet, to give the horse some berth to lie down, get up, etc. For more information, research "halter" and "lead rope" in a search engine.

the western bridle has no throat latch unlike the show bridle. It also does no have a noseband. But most other bridles Do!! Like Pony bridles have both a noseband and a throat latch. it depends on the horse really, but when my mare gets strong i use a gag, then you still have the adjustment between rings, but with horses i have worked with before after school and the correct non heating feeds horses become less pully and you can lower the bit to something weaker.

Migration is the correct answer.
