It first made landfall on August 25, 2005 in South Florida, as a category 1 hurricane. It had wind speeds of 80mph. It made its' second landfall as a Category 4 hurricane near Buras-Triumph, Louisiana with 145 mph winds. This happened on August 28th. Hurricane Katrina then made its third landfall near Pearlington, Mississippi and Slidell, Louisiana, with sustained winds of 120 mph (193 km/h).
