What is an hydraulic accumulator?
In mobile hydraulics, those used in agricultural, industrial, and automotive applications a hydraulic accumulator works like a shock absorber for a hydraulic system. Often a hydraulic accumulator is composed of a housing with a diaphragm between the oil side and the gas side. Pressurized gas (usually dry nitrogen because of its low expansion/contraction properties in relationship to temperature). The accumulator will have a specification for the gas pressure and the hydraulic system can often be used to manipulate the pressure of the oil used in the accumulator depending upon a specific application.
Rapid increases and decreases for hydraulic power demands (most often occurring in open-center systems) can shock the hydraulic pump, lines and valves. Open-center positive-displacement systems (constantly providing hydraulic flow while the engine is running) must return to sump when there is no hydraulic need. This is done by use of a relief valve or a 'dump'-valve on the pressure side of the system. There are moments when the relief valve may have a very slight delay. This delay can cause the system to build pressure in a very short period of time and this can strain hydraulic components. So the accumulator it used to soften the blow just a little. Another example would be when using a float application with a hydraulic system, an accumulator may help to buffer the changing oil directions within the hydraulic system.
What make petroleum oil suitable as a hydraulic fluid?
Oil transmits power readily because it is minimally compressible, Lubrication abilities and the cooling properties.
What is hydraulic civilization theory?
cities that controlled irrigated farmlands over surrounding areas could hold power over others -- they used food and hunger as a weapon. i.e. Babylon on the Euphrates.

How do you calculate the volume of hydraulic oil in any hydraulic circuit?
calculate the no of pipes in the circuit & then work out the volume based on the area.
What is hydraulic multiplication?
hydraulic multiplication is using incompressible fluids to transfer force from one are to another and in the process multiply the force being transfered. because pressure remains constant in a closed system, such as this, the pressure in the fluid is equal, it is constant, it does not change, therefore the bigger the area, the bigger the force.

What is the difference between HD-46 and HD-68 Hydraulic oil?
Basically, the only difference between HD-46 and HD-68 hydraulic oils is the weight of the product. HD-46 is a 15 weight oil, but HD-68 is a 20 weight oil.
What are the Pros and cons of hydraulic system?
Generally hydraulic systems are closed circuit, meaning that the liquid used (generally oil) is filtered and stored in a reservoir. pneumatic systems are often open, as air from the atmosphere is compressed in a tank before it is used, then released into the atmosphere afterward. the air tank is either charged before operation of the system, or continuously replenished by a compressor, (the compressor is run by a prime mover). the primary disadvantage of pneumatics, is that gas can be compressed, and decompressed, this is an advantage for storage, but makes control difficult. hydraulic systems do not have this problem, but the liquid in the system must be recirculated, thus requiring more maintenance, and also storage, as liquids do not compress. this is beneficial to control, because the liquid in a hydraulic actuator cannot be compressed, this provides rigidity when the liquid is not flowing, and precision when it is. another benefit of this rigidity is that good leverage is not needed in hydraulic systems many pieces of heavy machinery use third class levers with hydraulics because the mechanical advantage of a large hydraulic piston combats the poor leverage, a telescopic handler, wheel loader, and telescoping crane excellent examples of this. (include pictures of green forklift with log, grove crane and wheel loader on this slide)

How does electro hydraulic governor functions?
governor has 3 modes of operation
1.SPEED CONTROL MODE-before sychronisation the governor runs in speed control mode.guide vanes open up and the turbine runs in the rated speed.when the governor gets connected to the grid that is when it gets synchronised then the speed control mode terminates.
2.OPENING MODE-load is increased in this mode and teh machine runs in the rated speed only.
3.POWER CONTROL MODE-it has two modes.joint controller and indivisual controller mode.in joint controller mode all the machine works all together and in the indivisual controller one setup point is given to the governor and the guide vanes vary accordingly
What are some advantages and disadvantages of hydraulic systems?

How do you purifier hydraulic oil?
Hydraulic oil, also called hydraulic liquids, are the medium by which power is transferred in hydraulic machinery. Common hydraulic fluids are based on mineral oil or water. Examples of equipment that might use hydraulic oil include excavators, brakes, power steering systems, transmissions, backhoes, garbage trucks, aircraft flight control system and industrial machinery.
Hydraulic systems like the ones mentioned above will work most efficiently if the hydraulic oil used has low compressibility. But actually, after some time operation, the hydraulic oil quality will be changed as it can be contaminated by impurities, gases and plenty of water, and become emulsified. So in this case, after certain time operation, the used hydraulic oil must be filtered reguarly, in order to keep its good function of lubricating.
TYA series vacuum hydraulic oil purification machine is just a reliable machine for recovering these used emulsified hydraulic oil, here is the introduction of this model:
Technology and advantages of TYA series:
1: Rapid speed for dewatering, degasify and removing impurities from waste high voscosity lube oil used for lubricating equipments, and after treatment, the treated oil can reach to cleanness NAS 6.
2: Strong capability of breaking emislfied thoroughly with special material filters.
3: Adopt advanced technology for combination of coalescing separation and vacuum dewatering, to get the high precise of water and gas content.
4: Newly developed auto double-infrared fluid level control system, replace of manual or floating ball valve control, to ensure operation safety of this model.
5: Automatic back-flushing system, can clean the filters by the machine itself, to timely maintain the filters and extend its service life.
6: Carbon fiber infrared heating system not only can heat the oil equably and rapidly, but also a environment-friendly way for oil heating.
7: Nice outlook of the machine, advanced design, reliable quality, reasonable price and considerate service.

What is hydraulic height as it relates to a dam?
The pressure that water exerts on the walls of the dam is proportional to the depth of the water or you might say the height of the column of water from the base of the dam. The hydraulic height is the same as the depth of the water to the bottom of the dam.
